Through weekly participation, students practice essential life skills such as following schedules, organizing materials, handling money, and completing multi-step tasks. In addition, they develop communication and social interaction skills by taking orders, greeting staff, and delivering products, which fosters confidence and self-advocacy.\r\n\r\nThis project also creates natural opportunities for peer and staff collaboration, promoting inclusion and understanding within the school community. By integrating academics (math, reading, writing) with functional life skills and vocational experiences, the coffee cart prepares students for future independence both inside and outside of school. Ultimately, the Coffee Cart Project empowers students to gain pride in their work, strengthen their sense of belonging, and celebrate their unique contributions to the school environment.\r\nOn behalf of all 5 classrooms, we thank you so much for your donations and support as we start this new venture!","fullyFundedDate":1752251091956,"projectUrl":"project/coffee-cart-project-for-students-with-au/9448890/","projectTitle":"Coffee Cart Project for Students with Autism","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. OConnor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5292730_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y16&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751912071105","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5292730"},{"teacherId":1248651,"projectId":9013111,"letterContent":"I wanted to let you know how much you have positively impacted my classroom. The series of social skills books have added a flair and sense of fun to instruction. Students in my classroom received social skills instruction daily. My learners need to be implicitly taught social cues and responses so that they can navigate the school and home environment. The series of books that you funded present the topics in a fun way with \"ninjas\" as the main character. The students are engaged when these characters \"teach\" a new social skill in a way that is fun and relatable.
