In North Carolina, the weather can be unpredictable and there are many days the rain, snow, or other sudden weather changes keep us indoors. Thanks to your support, indoor recess is now something our students and us teachers look forward to. The students are using the games and materials to develop their sportsmanship and social skills with one another. \r\n\r\nWe were all elated when the materials arrived. The excitement of new materials not only for indoor recess but also for soccer, flag football, and outdoor play, had all of the students ready to play. Our previous playground equipment was outdated and worn out. The 5th grade students have taken great pride in having new materials and are taking great care of these materials. The outdoor playground equipment is allowing our students to practicing teamwork, fair play, and have fun on the field. \r\n\r\nLegos, board games, and hands on materials began as materials to use for indoor recess, these materials are now also incorporated into brain breaks and rewards for working hard and earning some time to take a few minutes to play, build, and collaborate without technology.\r\n\r\nIt has been wonderful to watch students enjoy the games and activities that we grew up playing that do not rely on technology. our support is truly making a difference in our daily school recess experience.
