With all of the new, hands on, developmentally appropriate materials this project provided for my students, they now look forward to \"workstation time,\" with wide eyes and big smiles.\r\n\r\nMy students are utilizing the new materials during workstation time each day while I work with students on academics in small groups. Students are loving the endless possibilities in the magnetic cube and magnetic tile areas. Additionally, students are thrilled when they get to tap into their imaginative sides when collaboratively playing in the kitchen, dollhouse, and cars areas within the classroom, which all include materials provided from this project. \r\n\r\nWhat I love most about the materials my classroom gained through this project is their versatility. For example, when we begin our animal group unit, I can add in the animal figures to one of the stations already in place, such as the magnetic tile station, giving students new ways to play, be creative, and work together. My hope is that students will continue to want to dive into these workstations all year long, even as the school year progresses, because the materials gained from this project enable me to continue to refresh and revamp the stations for each month. \r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart and the little hearts of all of my kindergarten students that this project has reached, this school year, and beyond, we appreciate your thoughtfulness and willingness to contribute to our classroom. Our new hands on items have truly taken students' level of engagement to new heights and have brought a new excitement to workstations for many eager eyes to enjoy for school years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1753314977239,"projectUrl":"project/play-today-thrive-tomorrow/9365615/","projectTitle":"Play Today, Thrive Tomorrow!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Baranowski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6453916"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_19985","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":611,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":37,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":43,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"19.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.8,"schoolId":19985,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hess Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hess Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/school-city-of-hammond/hess-elementary/19985"}
