Because of you, I was able to stock our room with a variety of snacks to use as rewards for positive behavior, participation, and academic effort. You would have thought it was a holiday. They were excited to see some of their favorite treats and immediately started asking how they could earn them. It sparked so much positive energy and curiosity about what they could do to be recognized. From that moment, I knew these simple rewards would help build stronger student engagement and a more positive classroom culture.\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment happened during a recent classroom activity. As students worked on their assignments, I let them know that snacks were available and could be earned based on their percentage on the assignment and not just by winning the game. Almost instantly, the focus in the room shifted. Students were more engaged, collaborated respectfully, and stayed on track to complete their work. It was incredible to see how a small reward could lead to such a big difference in their motivation and use of time.\r\n\r\nRight now, my students are focused on making growth in their math assessments and preparing for state testing at the end of the school year. In order to reach these goals, it's important that classroom engagement, participation, and involvement in lessons and assignments continue to increase. The snack rewards have become a fun and effective way to support this effort, motivating students to stay focused, actively participate, and give their best effort during instructional time. The storage containers include hygiene products and school supplies.
