Both the iPad and the headphones are having an amazing impact on the students. In an underserved community with so many cultures and languages represented the ability to connect families to our classroom by way of photos and video is a powerful means of communication. Additionally, it has allowed students to play an active role in documenting their own elementary school experience. For most of my students this is their final year with us before heading off to middle school next year and they have been loving the opportunity to take the wheel and tell their own stories.\r\n\r\nThe iPad has been used to capture our learning in math, to document special events and now there is even talk of using it to create a yearbook. It has also served as a great tool for translation for a student who has recently joined us from Vietnam! The kids are having a great time coming up with new ways to use the iPad and I'm learning from them as we go!\r\n\r\nThe headphones are really helping my students with learning difference and my language learner as they work on their writing. In fact the whole class is begging me to get more so we can all use them! Students use these to be able to tell their stories while still in the process of learning English. Without having to worry about the mechanics of writing kids are able to document their ideas without slowing down. This is giving us a great starting place as we further revise and edit our writing.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for gifting us these tools to help us improve and expand our classroom experience!","fullyFundedDate":1754602285970,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-tell-our-stories/9531222/","projectTitle":"Help Us Tell Our Stories","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Olivia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10110366"},{"teacherId":6701951,"projectId":9529633,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation that allowed us to purchase a color printer for our classroom! When we write stories or informational pieces, we print images to help students visualize what they are writing about. The printer also helps us create alphabet charts, sight-word cards, and sentence frames that support letter identification and early writing skills—all part of our first-grade learning standards.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has helped us make learning more engaging and meaningful. From the moment the printer arrived, they were filled with enthusiasm—watching their hard work come to life in vibrant color has truly elevated their sense of pride and ownership in their work. Whether it's a creative writing project, a science poster, or a piece of digital art, having the ability to print in color has opened up new ways for them to express themselves and engage more deeply in their learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the most special outcomes is our ability to now share students' work with their families in a more tangible and meaningful way.
