One student who frequently uses the location as a place to calm down when overstimulated immediately started helping us unbox the new fidgets, and then subsequently used them for the entire duration of lunch that day. Another student came in and was immediately drawn to the new available snacks and commented \"Yay!\"\r\n\r\nOnce we got the jellyfish lamp up and running - with speakers - it's almost become a zone out place for students to just sit and watch the little jelly's move. \r\n\r\nWe've clearly done a much better job through this project in creating a more welcoming and inviting space for students to come. The goal is that the new items provided the project will help to get the word spread about our mental health support room so that not only could students come play with the new fidgets and coloring books, but also feel more comfortable accessing the resources we have available on campus for them for their mental health needs.","fullyFundedDate":1745171616829,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-support-room/9244172/","projectTitle":"Mental Health Support Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Baker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9741942_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728602018760","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9741942"},{"teacherId":9741942,"projectId":8760725,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, students now have a direct and private way to connect with critical mental health resources at our school. With the new QR code posters, they can easily find information about on-campus services such as HOOTS (Helping Out Teens in Schools, organized by the local non-profit White Bird Clinic), counseling and therapy, and drug and alcohol counseling. \r\n\r\nOne of the most eye-opening moments was when we polled students and discovered that many weren't aware these services were available—right here on campus. Seeing the posters in private spaces like restrooms and quiet hallways has already led to increased engagement. Students have been scanning the codes and realizing that the help they need might be just down the hallway.\r\n\r\nWhile some of our posters are still being updated with newly discovered resources, the acrylic poster protectors have already proven invaluable in keeping the posters in good condition and in their designated spots. We plan to rotate and refresh the posters at least quarterly to ensure that the information stays current and relevant.\r\n\r\nThank you for making it possible to create an environment where students feel supported and empowered to seek help. Your contribution is helping to break down barriers and bring these resources within reach for every student who needs them.","fullyFundedDate":1728590162289,"projectUrl":"project/poster-protectors-for-student-mental-hea/8760725/","projectTitle":"Poster Protectors for Student Mental Health Resources","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Baker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9741942_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728602018760","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9741942"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_87943","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1462,"numTeachers":64,"percentFrplEligible":60,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":65,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"22.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":50.7,"schoolId":87943,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Henry D Sheldon High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Henry D Sheldon High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/eugene-school-district-4j/henry-d-sheldon-high-school/87943"}
