One of our favorite moments was during our science and sensory exploration center, where students used the kinetic sand to build, create, and describe different shapes and landforms while strengthening their fine motor skills. The sensory floor tiles have quickly become a favorite calming station, giving students a chance to regulate their emotions and refocus before returning to learning. The new dry erase markers have also made our daily phonics, handwriting, and math lessons much more engaging because every child has working materials to actively participate.\r\nMy students' faces lit up with excitement when they opened the boxes! They immediately wanted to explore the sensory tiles and couldn't wait to feel the kinetic sand. Many students exclaimed, \"This is so cool!\" and \"Can we use this today?\" They were thrilled to know these special materials were just for our classroom, and they have taken great pride in using and caring for them. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and appreciation.\r\nAs we continue building strong foundational skills, these resources will remain an important part of our daily learning routines. Students will use the dry erase markers for letter formation, phonics practice, sight words, and early math activities. The kinetic sand and storage bins will support hands-on learning in our science and literacy centers, while the sensory floor tiles will continue helping students develop self-regulation skills so they are ready to learn. Our positive behavior system will also be strengthened with the fruit snacks as rewards for perseverance, kindness, and making good choices. These resources are helping us create an engaging, inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, confident, and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you to The Schoen Foundation and the four additional donors for investing in our classroom. Having access to these resources has helped create a positive learning environment where students feel motivated to participate and take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment occurred during our small-group math instruction. Students used the new materials to solve real-world problem-solving tasks, collaborate with classmates, and explain their thinking. Even students who were previously hesitant to participate showed increased confidence and enthusiasm as they worked through challenging activities.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these resources will play an important role in helping students strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Your generous donation of foam frisbees, mini soccer goals and foam soccer balls, and a complete set of bocce balls has already made a bright, joyful difference in our students' daily activities. From the moment the equipment arrived, the children's excitement was contagious — they could hardly wait to explore the new games and practice new skills. The foam frisbees have been perfect for teaching throwing and catching with an emphasis on safety and coordination. Because these frisbees are soft and lightweight, even our youngest students feel confident trying new throws and learning how to track a flying object. Teachers have noticed marked improvements in hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness during frisbee activities, and students are practicing cooperation and turn-taking as they play partner and group games. The mini soccer goals and foam soccer balls have opened up opportunities for a range of soccer-based drills and small-sided games that fit perfectly within our limited indoor and outdoor spaces. The foam balls provide a safer alternative for developing dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques without the worry of injuries or damage. Our students have loved the sense of accomplishment when they score on the small goals, and those successes are already translating into more confidence during larger group activities. Teachers appreciate how the mini goals allow for flexible setups — we can quickly create stations for skill practice, organize short scrimmage rotations, or design cooperative challenges that highlight teamwork and communication. The bocce ball set has introduced an exciting new game that blends strategy, precision, and patience. Bocce is wonderfully adaptable for children of varying abilities and ages, and it gives students the chance to focus on measurement, aim, and gentle movement. The game encourages thoughtful play and respectful competition, and it's been a delightful way for students to practice turn-taking, scoring, and positive sportsmanship. We have already seen quieter students engage enthusiastically during bocce sessions, discovering pride in their careful throws and tactical thinking. Beyond the specific skills each item supports, your donation has enriched our physical education curriculum in ways that matter deeply. The variety of equipment allows us to offer inclusive, differentiated lessons that meet students where they are—physically, socially, and emotionally. With multiple activity options, we can group students by interest and skill level, rotate through stations that focus on different competencies, and provide choices that keep all learners motivated. The equipment also supports cross-curricular connections: teachers are integrating bocce scoring into math lessons, using frisbee flight paths to discuss basic physics and angles, and turning soccer drills into short team-planning exercises that reinforce communication and leadership. Those kinds of connections strengthen students' engagement and show them that physical education complements and enhances classroom learning. We are deeply grateful for the practical difference your generosity makes to our school community. The new resources have reduced wear-and-tear from older equipment, allowed us to expand our lesson plans, and ensured that every child has access to safe, age-appropriate gear. Most importantly, the donation has created countless joyful moments — laughter on the field, focused faces as students practice new skills, and proud hugs between peers celebrating a goal or a well-placed bocce toss. Thank you for believing in the power of play and for investing in our students' physical well-being and growth. Your support helps us teach healthy habits, teamwork, perseverance, and confidence—lessons that extend far beyond the gym. We look forward to sharing updates and stories from future lessons where these items continue to inspire learning, movement, and fun.","fullyFundedDate":1761933012587,"projectUrl":"project/come-let-us-learn-about-different-games/9771549/","projectTitle":"Come Let Us Learn About Different Games and Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Inabinett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9781298_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758766072217","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9781298"},{"teacherId":3069994,"projectId":9750301,"letterContent":"Your donation is greatly appreciated. Instead, the product includes a mixed set of 200 straws, with not nearly enough yellow or green straws to model regrouping correctly.
