It will have multiple uses for my classes. There are a host of education-related apps that come with iPad operating systems, so it will support my students in a variety of ways.\r\n\r\nMy most needed function for this technology is as a real-time translation tool for my English language learning students. I've installed a couple of different translation apps that can transpose my words into any language while I am presenting in class. They can also use the iPads to type messages back and forth between their classmates to discuss science topics as needed. Lastly, they can point the iPad at any text and it will translate on the fly. This has been a game changer is helping EL students stay on top on the concepts, but also to communicate with their English-only speaking peers.\r\n\r\nLastly, this tablet will be used for some of our video projects. For a few of our units, students have culminating group projects where they have to record a video that demonstrates their knowledge of the key concepts we've discussed. While a lot of kids now have smart phones to record and edit footage, many still don't at this age so this tablet will help all students participate and keep these projects equitable. \r\n\r\nThanks again for your generosity! Your thoughtfulness and generosity have made a real difference for our English Learners.\r\n\r\nThese graphic novels are already making an impact. The combination of visual storytelling and text is perfect for our students who are building their English skills. The pictures provide context clues that help them understand new vocabulary and follow the story, while the engaging plots keep them motivated to read. We've already seen students reaching for these books during independent reading time, and their excitement is contagious!\r\n\r\nYour gift shows our students that their learning matters and that people in the community care about their success. For many of our English Learners, these graphic novels offer a bridge, making reading feel accessible and fun while they continue to grow their language skills.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and supporting their journey to becoming confident readers. The new whiteboards and markers have quickly become one of our favorite tools for learning. My students use them daily to practice everything for quick vocabulary reviews and formative assessments. One of their favorite projects so far has been small-group \"problem-solving races,\" where each team uses the boards to show their thinking step by step. The boards make it easy for them to collaborate, revise their work, and share their answers with the class.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their eyes lit up—they immediately asked, \"Can we try them today?\" They loved the idea of writing, erasing, and starting again without wasting paper. For many of them, it feels less intimidating to take academic risks when they can easily make changes, which has led to more participation and confidence.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom has become a more interactive space. As our next step, students will use the dry-erase boards to plan and draft ideas for their upcoming book projects. They'll sketch story diagrams, jot down quotes, and practice explaining their reasoning before creating their final work. This flexible tool makes the process both engaging and accessible.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your generosity—you've given us a resource that will be used and appreciated every single day!","fullyFundedDate":1618857606381,"projectUrl":"project/dry-erase-supplies-amplify-learning/5507259/","projectTitle":"Dry Erase Supplies Amplify Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bolin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5911662_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x900,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737926803173","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5911662"},{"teacherId":9716950,"projectId":8719915,"letterContent":"This project has totally transformed our school library into a warm, colorful, and inviting place to be on campus. The reccomendations on each poster has helped students who aren't sure of what to pick make an informed choice.\r\n\r\nStudents have been going absolutely bananas over all the bookmarks that are now available during any checkout. When I put out a new scent they swarm my desk all excited! The ceiling hooks allowed me to hang some rainbow star string lights above my LGBT+ section to really make it pop. Nothing catches an eye more than a section light up in lights!\r\n\r\nAdditionally, there's no longer traffic jams of students trying to hole punch their projects.
