Your donation helped us build a game closet stocked with meaningful, engaging games—tools that our students are using not just for fun, but for building empathy, patience, and strong community values.\r\n\r\nThrough this project, students have taken the lead in teaching their peers the essentials of turn-taking, managing emotions, resolving conflicts, and most importantly, practicing kindness in action. What started as a simple idea—learning through play—has evolved into a ripple effect of compassion that's spreading across our school.\r\n\r\nThe games you helped fund are now part of our daily culture. Students have become mentors, facilitators, and role models. They've learned that every roll of the dice or move on a board is an opportunity to listen, encourage, and support one another. These lessons extend beyond the classroom, creating a more inclusive and respectful school community.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has empowered our students to be the change-makers—leading with heart, compassion, and a commitment to building a better world, one game at a time.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in them—and in the power of kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1746464348531,"projectUrl":"project/kindness-through-games/9301682/","projectTitle":"Kindness through Games","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4577297_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1501210798721","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/counselor"},{"teacherId":4577297,"projectId":9170717,"letterContent":"My students have thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities we got to make Mental Health come a live! They thought they would be upset because we were unable to get legos, but we were able to show our resilience by using clay and paint instead and it has now become one of their favorite projects that we have done so far! They have asked if we could do so many more clay projects already. \r\nThe students were very surprised when I showed them the Totika that we got, though mostly because I told them I wasn't getting them jenga, which they thought it was. They have said that Totika is just as fun as jenga, some days they which we didn't have to do the questions with the game, but especially my older students believe that the questions have made it easier to know what to talk about. \r\nWe added the tiles into the waiting area of the clinic, and it has made some many kids happy to see something as amazing as lava lamp styled titles they can walk on in the waiting area, because it \"gives us something to do.\" Which is the best thing I thought I could hear about them. I know others that have used them and it seems like their students just don't care about the tiles. \r\nI was able to play Totem with some of my 6th grade girls that have been having some conflicts. At the end of that session, the girls were in \"happy tears\" after seeing what attributes and qualities the others see in them. While they said it was hard to sit there and just listen to all the positive things, when they just wanted to be upset with each other, they all expressed gratitude to being friends and getting to make up with each other. \r\nThis is just a peak into what my students have been doing with all the goodies we were able to get from this project. It has been a huge help in showing them that not only does their mental health matter, but that it doesn't have to be dry and boring like they thought it did.","fullyFundedDate":1742949836149,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-mental-health-to-life-through-h/9170717/","projectTitle":"Bringing Mental Health to Life Through Hands-On Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4577297_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1501210798721","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/counselor"},{"teacherId":4577297,"projectId":8945620,"letterContent":"My students have appreciated all the support we've gotten this year. As a Title I school, we work tirelessly to provide the best educational experiences for our students, but we know that learning is most effective when students feel safe, supported, and mentally well. We know it is essential that we create an environment where they can manage their emotions, build resilience, and feel empowered to succeed academically and personally. Your support has allowed us to do just that.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, we have been able to create a calming, restorative space for our students—a place where they can decompress, reset, and feel truly supported. The Big Joe Bean Bag Chairs have provided a comfortable and inviting seating option, allowing students a cozy place to take a breath and find peace during stressful moments. We added the floor lamp, to this area with a color changing light bulb, which the students have enjoyed setting the mood to talk to. The Sensory Tiles have been a wonderful addition for our littles, giving them a tactile, movement-based experience that helps them regulate their emotions and refocus their energy.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and generosity have created more than just a physical space—you have given our students the opportunity to feel valued, heard, and supported. This space is now a haven where they can process their emotions, build resilience, and ultimately engage more fully in their education. Because of you, they have a place to turn to when they need a moment of peace in their busy and often challenging lives.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your belief in our students and your willingness to invest in their well-being. Your generosity is not only changing lives today but is also shaping a brighter, healthier future for our students.
