Many students rely on their cell phones for all types of communication and do not realize how many ways there are to use technology to excel in learning.\r\n\r\nIn today's age of technology students need keyboarding skills to take assessments or complete applications. One benefit of having access to a laptop center daily is that students can learn these skills that are necessary in school and in the job market now and in the future. Students can participate in teacher led instruction and in online tutoring in keyboarding to prepare them for realistic situations and a future job market. \r\n\r\nWe also use the laptop to immerse students into digital literacy participation and project based learning. This is possible through the use of these new tools in our classroom. Students will be able to use Google classroom to complete activites, communicate in forums, create projects to share visually and verbally. All of these skills and strategies will allow students to improve listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency skills in not only learning English, but in gaining a high level of proficiency in the English language.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom reading is all of the main parts of a literacy program, with an emphasis on grammar and writing because that is the goal of most students.
