My 4th and 5th graders are using the science kits to reinforce their learning objectives. After learning about ecosystems, the students used the science kit to make predictions and then test those predictions. They learned how to make a hypothesis, use proper and safe lab protocols, and the importance of following lab procedures. They also learned how to monitor changes and take lab notes. My students were very excited to have this hands on experience. They liked viewing the changes each week and comparing their projects to others in the class.\r\nIn the future, I will continue to provide other opportunties such as these to my students. It is important for them to see science in the real world and these opportunities cement the terminology into their minds. I would like to also provide the students more opportunities to share their results with their peers using appropriate science terms.","fullyFundedDate":1725314094837,"projectUrl":"project/exceptional-science-kits/8730939/","projectTitle":"Exceptional Science Kits","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Buus","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1868451"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78566","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":99,"numTeachers":5,"percentFrplEligible":50,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":78566,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Harrison School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Harrison School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/harrison-school-district-23/harrison-school/78566"}
