The 3D printer has been an amazing addition to our class and there isn't a student in my class who doesn't love to see what is printing next or try to get their own 3D print.\r\n\r\nSince getting this printer, I have printed games that all students use, cats, dragons, snakes, and more! This year I allowed all students to get 1 free print to start the year off and the printer has been going every day! They can then purchase them with our classroom economy. Last year they were so popular and I know this year they will be again!\r\n\r\nAgain, I want to thank you for your support! The students have really enjoyed the materials. They have especially enjoyed the jumbo pillows! It has become a popular spot to read during independent reading time. I can only imagine the places these student's imagination will take them while reading different books in their new comfy, cozy, reading nook. It has been great watching them read to themselves, stuffed animals, or partners in a cozy way. \r\n\r\nThe math manipulatives that I received have helped the students to visualize how to use their own manipulatives during my whole group lesson, as well as them being able to minipulate them when they are sharing their thinking in front of the class. The fraction tiles are being used right now and the students thought they were the coolest things because they look just like the ones they have at their seats. When we were learning adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers students were able to move and use the blocks on the board to present their techniques to solve the problem.\r\n\r\nThese materials will continue to be enjoyed, used and appreciated for many years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1733236250459,"projectUrl":"project/starting-the-year-off-on-the-right-foot/8646385/","projectTitle":"Starting the Year Off on the Right Foot!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Peterson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7826339_orig.png?crop=449,449,x60,y74&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723565713619","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7826339"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65461","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":106,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":93,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"3 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"9.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":60.0,"schoolId":65461,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Harrison Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Harrison Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maine/rsu-17-msad-17/harrison-elementary-school/65461"}
