Thanks to your kindness, my students were finally able to dive into the manga books they've been eagerly anticipating since the day we submitted this project. The moment the boxes arrived, it felt like Christmas morning. Smiles stretched wide, and students practically begged to help unpack, organize, and stamp the new additions to our classroom library. They didn't even wait for the ink to dry before diving into their first fresh read!\r\n\r\nReading in my classroom has always been a joyful experience, but your donation has taken it to a whole new level. The shelves now hold sought-after titles that students had only dreamed of accessing. It's heartwarming to see them fully immersed—flipping pages with wide eyes, discussing plot twists, and even recommending favorites to one another. \r\n\r\nThere are already students who have claimed their \"new favorite series\" and rush in at the start of class to grab the next volume. Even my more reluctant readers are choosing manga, captivated by the visual storytelling and relatable characters. Seeing their enthusiasm confirms that this project is doing more than filling shelves—it's fostering a genuine love for reading.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. Your generosity has not only expanded our library but also expanded my students' imaginations and deepened their passion for stories. We are beyond grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1742933052218,"projectUrl":"project/get-anime-ted-about-reading-manga-for-m/9099844/","projectTitle":"Get Anime-ted About Reading: Manga for Middle Schoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gazinski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3982300_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721170520232","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/prairiewood"},{"teacherId":9815990,"projectId":8903326,"letterContent":"The implementation of standing desks in our sixth-grade classroom has significantly improved student engagement and focus. The previously common afternoon slump, characterized by restlessness and difficulty concentrating, has been noticeably reduced. Students demonstrate increased alertness and reduced fidgeting, leading to greater participation in class discussions and improved task focus during independent work. The ability to alternate between sitting and standing provides valuable flexibility, especially for students with sensory needs, allowing them to better regulate their movement and maintain a comfortable learning environment.\r\n\r\nBeyond immediate benefits, standing desks promote active learning and reduce sedentary behavior, contributing to better posture and circulation. This simple classroom adjustment has created a more dynamic and interactive learning environment, fostering a positive and productive school experience. We believe the observed improvements in focus and engagement will positively impact academic performance and establish healthier habits for our sixth-grade students.","fullyFundedDate":1734550109407,"projectUrl":"project/stand-tall-learn-strong-empowering-stu/8903326/","projectTitle":"Stand Tall, Learn Strong: Empowering Students with Flexible Desk Options","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hillier","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9815990"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_26989","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":939,"numTeachers":77,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":66,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.2,"schoolId":26989,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Harlem Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Harlem Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/harlem-unit-school-district-122/harlem-middle-school/26989"}
