Each item serves a unique purpose, yet together they create a classroom environment that is smooth-running, structured, and student-centered.\r\n\r\nThe large digital wall clock with a built-in timer will have one of the most powerful impacts on daily learning. Transitions, independent work time, and testing are major parts of our routine, and many students struggle with time management. A visible timer helps students understand expectations, stay on task, and pace themselves without needing frequent reminders. This reduces anxiety, especially for students who get overwhelmed when they don't know how much time is left. Whether we are taking tests, rotating through centers, or completing group projects, students will be able to independently monitor time and take responsibility for their progress. This tool builds executive functioning skills they will carry into middle school and beyond.\r\n\r\nThe 100 pack of paper pocket folders with prongs will support organization for every student in the classroom. Many students come to school without reliable folders, and papers often get lost or damaged. With sturdy, pronged folders, students can keep notes, assignments, and reference sheets together—especially during writing units, science labs, or long-term research projects. Organized materials lead to more successful learning because students spend less time searching and more time working. By providing every student with a personal folder, we are eliminating barriers, supporting independence, and creating a classroom where all learners feel prepared.\r\n\r\nTo support small-group instruction and flexible learning spaces, the mesh zipper pouch bags will keep supplies neat, sorted, and easy to transport. These durable pouches are perfect for task cards, math manipulatives, flashcards, game pieces, and literacy materials. Instead of items getting lost, mixed up, or damaged, everything will have a labeled place. When students can quickly access materials and clean up easily, learning time is maximized and classroom routines become calmer and more efficient. Students also take pride in caring for shared supplies, which promotes responsibility and teamwork.\r\n\r\nThe Scotch laminating pouches will help preserve classroom resources so they can be reused for years. Laminated materials support center rotations, interactive notebooks, behavior charts, vocabulary games, anchor charts, and student reference tools. Laminated cards can be wiped clean and handled repeatedly without wearing out. This not only saves paper, but also ensures that students always have access to high-quality learning supports.\r\n\r\nThe heavy-duty double-sided mounting tape will allow classroom displays and visual aids to remain securely on the walls throughout the school year. Posters, anchor charts, sentence stems, reference charts, and student work can be hung with confidence that they will not fall or curl. These displays help students learn independently—especially visual learners who benefit from reminders around the room.\r\n\r\nFinally, the wooden craft sticks will be used for hands-on learning, sentence sorting, math games, classroom jobs, and student name draws. Even a simple tool like a craft stick becomes powerful when used for engagement and creativity.\r\n\r\nBy funding this project, donors are supporting a classroom where students feel prepared, organized, confident, and successful. Every tool in this project will be used daily and will continue benefiting future classes for years to come. Thank you for helping create a structured, supportive learning environment where students can do their best work.","fullyFundedDate":1762265268597,"projectUrl":"project/time-to-shine-in-5th-grade/9737684/","projectTitle":"Time to Shine in 5th Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9653439"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_26977","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":370,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":53,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":93.3,"schoolId":26977,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hannum Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hannum Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/oak-lawn-hometown-sch-dist-123/hannum-elementary-school/26977"}
