One of our favorite moments was during a cutting and shaping lab, where students practiced safe knife skills by forming and slicing Play-Doh. This activity helped them strengthen fine motor skills, follow directions, and build confidence in a low-stress, engaging way.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited—especially the Play-Doh! Many students immediately wanted to know what projects we would be doing and couldn't wait to get started. The folders and paper helped them stay organized and take pride in their work, which made our lessons run more smoothly and allowed students to focus on learning.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these supplies as we move into additional food and nutrition lessons that involve measuring, shaping, and practicing kitchen-related skills before working with real ingredients. These resources allow students to learn safely, collaboratively, and hands-on, setting them up for success in future labs and life skills.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping bring meaningful, engaging learning experiences into our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1767140182054,"projectUrl":"project/cut-create-and-learn-hands-on-tools-f/9687039/","projectTitle":"Cut, Create, and Learn: Hands-On Tools for My Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dicharry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1104342_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1466876689296","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dicharry"},{"teacherId":1104342,"projectId":9596096,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for supporting our Family and Consumer Sciences classroom by providing new ink for our printers. This contribution has made a meaningful difference in how our students engage with learning. With reliable printing capabilities, students are able to complete assignments, create visual projects, and follow step-by-step instructions for recipes and lab activities without interruption. Many of our donors use technology at home, but in the classroom, we rely on a combination of digital and printed resources to enhance learning. Having consistent access to printed materials helps students stay organized and allows them to focus more on developing their skills rather than worrying about missing or incomplete resources.\r\n\r\nThe students are especially excited about using the printed materials for hands-on projects and labs. From meal planning worksheets to recipe guides, they enjoy being able to physically interact with their work, which helps reinforce what they are learning. Certain students, particularly those who are more tactile learners, have really warmed to this technology because it allows them to see and manipulate the content in a way that digital-only resources can't provide. They take pride in their completed projects and often share them with peers and family, which increases engagement and confidence.\r\n\r\nYour support has a direct impact on our classroom, and our students are thriving because of it. By providing ink for our printers, you are helping create an environment where learning is seamless, accessible, and exciting for all of our students. Thank you for making this possible and for investing in the success of our future chefs, nutritionists, and skilled learners.","fullyFundedDate":1756292266132,"projectUrl":"project/from-recipes-to-reports-ink-to-inspire/9596096/","projectTitle":"From Recipes to Reports: Ink to Inspire Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dicharry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1104342_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1466876689296","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dicharry"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_13702","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1603,"numTeachers":82,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":51,"percentWhite":29,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":25.6,"schoolId":13702,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hammond High Magnet School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hammond High Magnet School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/tangipahoa-parish-school-system/hammond-high-school/13702"}
