When the supplies arrived, my students were thrilled. Seeing fresh #2 pencils, colorful Crayola crayons, and fun scented pencils and bookmarks with toppers immediately brought smiles and excitement to the room. Many students couldn't wait to choose a pencil or smell the scratch-and-sniff bookmarks. One special moment happened during our writing block when students eagerly grabbed their new pencils and opened their notebooks to begin a personal narrative. Having new materials made them feel confident and proud to get started on their work.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have quickly become part of our daily learning routine. The Crayola crayons and construction paper have helped students bring creativity into reading response projects and science diagrams. The pre-sharpened pencils ensure everyone is always prepared for writing, math practice, and journaling, which helps our class stay focused and organized. The fun scented pencils and bookmarks have also been wonderful motivators during reading time—students love using them as they track their pages and celebrate finishing books.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom now has the tools we need to keep learning fun and engaging. Next, students will be using these materials as we begin a longer writing project where they will plan, draft, and illustrate their own short stories. One of our favorite moments has been during whole-group instruction, when students eagerly write their answers and hold up their boards to share. This allows every student to participate and gives me a quick way to check for understanding.\r\nThe manipulatives and phonics materials have also made a big impact. Students are using them to build words, practice sounds, and physically interact with concepts we're learning. These tools have been especially helpful for reinforcing phonics skills in a way that feels fun, interactive, and meaningful for students.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were excited and ready to get started right away. One of my favorite moments was watching the class excitedly find the letters in their names around the carpet during our alphabet review, such a perfect mix of learning and joy.\r\nWhen my kinders first saw the carpet, their reactions were priceless. They gasped, pointed, and immediately rushed to sit on their \"special letter.\" Many traced the letters with their fingers, proudly announcing, \"I found mine!\" The carpet has quickly become the coziest and happiest spot in our room, giving students a comfortable place to gather, listen, and learn together.\r\nAs we move forward, we'll continue using the carpet to build early literacy skills, practice sharing and turn-taking during circle time, and support small-group lessons. It's amazing to see how naturally they connect problem-solving in coding to what we do in math and reading every day.\r\n\r\nWhat the students love most is seeing their ideas move. They giggle and cheer when their robot successfully follows the path they designed—or races off in the wrong direction before they debug their code and try again. It's been an incredible tool for helping the kids understand and express their emotions.
