We have been able to use it for enrichment lessons in math and science. Teachers have been able to use it with STEM activities. A few have found it very valuable to leave in their substitute plans when they had to be out. (The substitutes appreciated it as well since the students were so engaged during the videos.) I, personally, have found it beneficial for my special education students. I have been able to assign videos. on the standards we are working on, for them to watch while I worked with a smaller group of students. Some of our special education students miss part of the science instruction due to receiving other services, and have benefited from us being able to assign a video to go over the content they may have missed. \r\nWe are looking forward to it benefiting our students for the balance of the school year.","fullyFundedDate":1747963864840,"projectUrl":"project/lets-make-all-of-our-students-generatio/9288916/","projectTitle":"Let's Make All of Our Students Generation Geniuses","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thornell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/125546"},{"teacherId":125546,"projectId":8945422,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping to fund the acrylic for us to use to make math manipulatives. We struggled getting everything set up for the laser but were finally able to get started cutting. It was great to be able to create blank fraction tiles for the students to use while exploring fractions. They determined fractional sections, compared fractions, created equivalent fractions, and we barely got started. So many of the kids have learned to rely on the fractional piece to have the size printed on them so it was a major change to have no writing on them. They quickly went from, \"I can't do this\" to \"Oh, I've got it!\" \r\nI can't wait to see what other manipulatives we are able to create next year with our remaining acrylic. Having the additional stools has given all of my students the opportunity to choose to use a stool rather than a traditional chair. This has help stop the mad dash into my room to be one of the first to claim one or the arguments outside my door of whose turn it is. \r\nMy students are all over the place with they knowledge of money. Some are able to add multiple prices and tell you the change that you will receive, others are barely able to identify coins or to give the value of coins. Having these Quickies allow the students to practice their money skills when we have a few minutes here and there to fill. This has helped so much.\r\nThe pop-its made making arrays so much easier. No more chasing counters! Their excitement as they pulled their hats out of the stockings was a delight to watch. Many comments such as, \"I needed a new hat\" could be heard around the rooms. The laughter as they stuffed the stockings with goodies from each other was a wonderful sound to hear. One class in particular, got a huge kick out of stuffing the stocking of a classmate that had moved a few days prior with treats and notes, knowing that we were mailing it to her for her to have before Christmas day. \r\nWe have seen so many of the hats come back into and out of the building since they received them before Christmas break as we've had some extremely cold weather for our area. The letter sets have come in very handy when working with our phonemic awareness and phonics lessons. Students can quickly build words, swap out letters to make new ones, and segment words. While all of this can be done with pencil & paper or with whiteboards & markers, having students physically manipulate the letters helps many students. \r\nThe lap desks have helped my students who love to sit around the room rather than at a desk. For some them, being able to sit on the carpet or on cushions around the room help them relax, especially when working on assessments or for some of their independent practice activities. The lap desks help ensure that they are comfortable but also still sitting up and engaged. \r\nThank you again for providing these for us.","fullyFundedDate":1727816069237,"projectUrl":"project/making-our-learning-magnetic/8761503/","projectTitle":"Making Our Learning Magnetic","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thornell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/125546"},{"teacherId":125546,"projectId":8693627,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping to fund these wobble stools, bouncy bands, bouncy feet and fidgets. Having items that help my students to focus during instruction is invaluable. A student regularly comes in and helps himself to one of the squishy balls. I have placed calm strips on or inside several of my desks for students to use. One student has asked for one to stick to the side of his desk in his general ed class also. The stools have been primarily used in my room but we are thinking of trying one with a student in the general ed class also, which is how most of the bouncy bands and feet are being used.
