One of my favorite moments was watching a student who previously struggled with counting confidently build and explain a number using cubes—something that wouldn't have been possible without these tools.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was contagious. My students' eyes lit up as they explored the bins, eagerly asking, \"Can we use these today?\" They were instantly engaged, curious, and ready to learn. The manipulatives have made abstract math concepts concrete, allowing students to touch, build, and visualize numbers in ways that truly make sense to them. Therefore, each needs headphones so that they can hear and ONLY they had hear what is happening on their laptop. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for allowing this to be possible for our school. By the sheer nature of headphones, they tend to be delicate (at least the wiring is). So they don't tend to last very long. The Kanoodle, triangle peg game, and Rubik's cube have been big hits However, the Guiness Book of World Records has been their absolute favorite! \r\n\r\nI have had to create a list so that the kids don't fight over it! And I have to let several look at it at the same time. And we've created rules so that it will last for a while! I remember when my kids were in elementary school, the Guiness books in the library were in bad shape!\r\n\r\nThe math stackers have been a great addition to centers! For some of the kids it is a great new way to think about numbers. To some kids, this kind of manipulation is obvious. You might think kids know what they are doing when they are using technology. But many times, they only know what has worked for them. They haven't learned how to capitalize or use punctuation.
