They learned how to identify the building blocks of a balanced snack, explored a variety of fruits and vegetables, and gained practical experience with food preparation. For some, it was their first time using a blender, tasting ingredients like spinach or mango, or making something from scratch.\r\n\r\nMore than just a fun activity, this project had a lasting impact on our school community:\r\n\r\nIt made nutrition real and accessible. Instead of just reading about healthy choices, students got to live them. They saw that nutritious food can be simple, tasty, and energizing.\r\n\r\nIt empowered students. Many walked away with more confidence—not just in the kitchen, but in their ability to take care of their own health and well-being.\r\n\r\nIt promoted equity. Some of our students don't have regular access to fresh produce or kitchen tools at home. Your support gave them access to something they might not otherwise experience—and for some, it may spark a lifelong interest in cooking or wellness.\r\n\r\nOne student shared, \"I didn't know I liked yogurt until today,\" and another said, \"Can we do this every week?\" These may sound small, but they're powerful steps toward developing lifelong healthy habits and a positive relationship with food.\r\n\r\nFrom my students, our staff, and myself—thank you. You gave more than materials. You gave my students a sense of pride, possibility, and ownership over their health.
