Not only are the children excited about coming into class, they are prepared and focused to learn how to cook. They are taking the precautions seriously, creating recipes, listing ingredients and preparing them for the moment we create delicious, healthy small meals. \r\n\r\nSince I received complete funding for the project, I was able to take 20 students into the activity. Over 80 signed up to join. Obviously, there is a strong desire in children to learn how to cook. I had a few items, but with the donations, I'm able to provide each of four stations with a blender, set of mixing bowls, skillet, and toaster oven. We also have enough plastic-ware and paper plates to enjoy our meals. \r\n\r\nWe have already cooked english muffin pizzas and had fruite smoothies. Next up is \"Monster\" cookies, mac and cheese, and a frest fruit blended shake. My students and I are already putting these new resources to great use every day in math class. The flexible seating floor chairs have transformed our classroom into a space where students can choose the seating that helps them focus best.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was watching a group of students use the new seating during a recent math project where they worked in small groups to solve multi-step real-world problems. The students were so engaged, moving around the room to collaborate and check in with other groups. The flexible seating allowed them to spread out and stay comfortable, which kept their energy and focus high all period.\r\n\r\nTheir reaction when they first saw the seating was priceless—lots of smiles, excited chatter, and even a few students trying every single seat before settling on their favorite! Many of them told me they feel like the classroom now belongs to them because they can choose how they learn best.\r\n\r\nNext, we will be using our seating choices during our upcoming linear equations unit. Students will be working on hands-on design challenges, like understanding slope using a marble run STEM Challenge, or building graphs to represent their equations, these will require lots of collaboration and movement around the room. The flexible seating will make it easy for them to share materials, switch partners, and stay engaged.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly changed the way my students experience math class. Thank you for helping create a space where every student feels comfortable, focused, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1746573814057,"projectUrl":"project/seats-in-motion-enhancing-math-educatio/9305673/","projectTitle":"Seats in Motion: Enhancing Math Education With Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mullen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3411762_orig.jpg?crop=1653,1653,x215,y833&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746109677060","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3411762"},{"teacherId":9619761,"projectId":9019627,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. Your support means the world to my students and me, and we are so thankful for the opportunity you've given us to enhance our learning environment.\r\n\r\nThanks to your kindness, we've been able to provide privacy dividers and whiteboard markers. These resources are already making a significant difference, bringing new energy and excitement to our lessons and sparking curiosity among my students.\r\nOne of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing the joy in my students when they get to engage with materials that inspire them.\r\n\r\nYour donation has not only given them the tools they need to succeed, but it has also shown them that there are people who truly care about their education. Many of my students come from backgrounds where educational resources are limited, so your generosity helps to level the playing field and allows every child the opportunity to reach their full potential.\r\n\r\nThe positive impact of your gift will be felt for years to come. You've empowered my students to take their learning to new heights, and for that, we are incredibly grateful. It's moments like this that remind me why I became a teacher—to make a difference in the lives of young learners.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your selflessness and belief in the power of education.
