I immediately knew what that meant. I reached over and grabbed a box of rice crispy treats and gave each one of them one. That little bar gave them enough energy to not only complete the lesson, but to meet the 80% objective that I had set out for them to achieve. At the end of class, one of my students said \"Dr.Girault....I needed that!\". That came from a student who rarely speaks in class and generally has difficulty focussing. The laser printer has been an amazing addition to our classroom and the students have been using it to further their growth. It has fulfilled our expectations and has also allowed us to promote our students' work in ways that we didn't necessarily expect. \r\n\r\nThe Greenville High art students have used the in many ways for their projects. They have been able to print out images to use in collages - which is something that we were not able to do in color before. They have been able to print out images for use in gel plate transfers at a far better success rate than we previously could. This is has strengthened their work and helped push their ideas forward.\r\n\r\nIn the past, it has been more difficult for us to show work by our photography students. The addition of the color printer has allowed us to more easily display and promote their work with the community. This is something we hadn't planned on doing until we got the printer. \r\n\r\nWe will continue to find new ways to use this printer in our classes and can't wait to share the results. Our students have been using the block printing press to work on linocuts, getting experience with the press before we start working on the prints for our first print exchange. We are now making higher-quality prints than we really thought possible in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe students were so excited when the press arrived. We immediately set it up and started using it to pull prints. They immediately started talking about the possibilities that the press now gives us. We can make better and larger prints more consistently. \r\n\r\nWe are now ready to start the process of creating the print exchange that we have been planning. The new document camera provides a much clearer picture so that students can see even faint lines and fine details in my demonstrations. The projector and screen allow me to show demonstrations and presentations to both ends of the room at once. This allows students to follow along on their own work when appropriate and does not involve having students move seats each time I'm doing a presentation. \r\n\r\nThe increased quality of demonstrations have been especially effective. When I was teaching how to mix color when painting, students were able to clearly see my palette in a way that allowed them to actually participate in my decision making so that they were the ones suggesting what color I should add to my paint to get the desired result. This level of engagement always makes lessons more effective.\r\n\r\nStudents who were reluctant to move seats to watch a presentation are now able to see able to see things that are being projected from a place where they feel comfortable and safe. I'm able to quickly share images when something comes up where an example might be helpful without having to move a bunch of things around. This gives me a chance to adjust lessons or introduce material in a way that is efficient and organic.","fullyFundedDate":1736987634597,"projectUrl":"project/watch-this-making-demonstrations-availa/8868110/","projectTitle":"Watch This!
