We use these materials daily during small group instruction and independent learning time. In reading, my students rotate through engaging literacy centers that allow them to practice letter recognition, sight words, rhyming, and comprehension skills in fun, interactive ways. During math, they explore number sense, addition, subtraction, and problem-solving using manipulatives and games that make learning come alive. These resources have made our centers more structured, meaningful, and enjoyable while meeting each child where they are in their learning journey.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their excitement filled the room! They couldn't wait to explore, touch, and try out everything. Many of them immediately began sharing with their friends and showing what they could do. It was wonderful to see how motivated and confident they felt when learning with these new tools. The bright colors, textures, and variety of materials truly captured their attention and turned learning into play.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we'll continue using these centers to support hands-on learning for the rest of the school year. My students are building strong foundational skills, and we will keep adding new challenges and activities that build on what they've already learned. These resources have transformed the way we learn in our classroom, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to give my students engaging, meaningful experiences every single day. Thank you for helping make that possible!","fullyFundedDate":1758336880535,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-beginnings-hands-on-lit/9596024/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Beginnings: Hands-On Literacy & Math Fun for Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mitchell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9057091_orig.jpg?crop=1236,1236,x588,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733427763829","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9057091"},{"teacherId":8521378,"projectId":9091223,"letterContent":"Providing my students with snacks to eat in class was incredibly helpful in many ways. The most important thing is that students did not have to worry about being hungry. Instead of focusing on hunger, students were able to put their focus towards their tasks and learning goals. It is hard to focus when you need a snack and don't have one. Not every student remembers to bring a snack from home, and many students may not have a snack from home to bring at all. Providing snacks removed that obstacle for us for a little while. \r\n Providing snacks, especially a variety to choose from, had my students excited each day. They looked forward to snack time and getting to choose something out of the many options provided. In general, this lifted the mood in the classroom and helped create a positive atmosphere which can have a big impact on learning. Having snacks generously provided by our donors benefited our classroom tremendously. They are THRILLED to be involved in the after school gaga ball program. This has given us the opportunity to practice good sportsmanship and losing with grace. We enjoyed the snacks and water while going over rules and the sportsmanship expectations before the games began. That was HUGE! I've seen such better attitudes in competitions afterwards. I've also seen many ribbons hanging in lockers. It so nice to see them appreciate their success while being a good sport. Here are a few key ways the technology is helping:\r\n\r\n 1. Personalized Learning: My students are able to use these headphones to effectively and efficiently get personalized learning from their online resources. With their old headphones they were constantly getting disrupted because of the lack of quality from the product. Their headphones were either falling off their head or they were broken and they were using no headphones, which was a distraction for them as well as others. With these new headphones you generously donated to our classroom they are excited to do their personalized lessons. They are also able to complete more lessons because they have less distractions and are able to hear their lessons better. \r\n\r\n2. Excitement: My students are most excited to have headphones that they can hear well out of as well as them being so comfortable to wear. Our other headphones did not fit their head well so they had to keep getting adjusted, but these fit very well and are much more comfortable.\r\n\r\n3. Inclusivity: The students that have warmed up the most to our new headphones were the ones that did not have any. This are allowing them to hear their computers better as well as giving them a sense of belonging because everyone has the same thing therefore they feel included.","fullyFundedDate":1742678892428,"projectUrl":"project/sound-start-providing-headphones-for-ki/8992171/","projectTitle":"Sound Start: Providing Headphones for Kindergartners' Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mitchell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9057091_orig.jpg?crop=1236,1236,x588,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733427763829","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9057091"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_76786","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":181,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"8.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":63.6,"schoolId":76786,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Greenfield Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Greenfield Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/greenfield-school-district-r4/greenfield-elementary-school/76786"}
