Because of your kindness, my students now have the sensory tools they need to feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nHow We're Using the Resources:\r\nEvery day, these materials are transforming how my students navigate their emotions and engage with learning. When a kindergartener arrives overwhelmed from the bus ride, she reaches for a weighted stuffed animal and takes deep breaths while holding it close. Within minutes, her nervous system settles, and she's ready to join morning meeting. A fifth grader who previously shut down during challenging math lessons now keeps a fidget in his hand, allowing him to channel his anxiety productively while working through problems. The weighted vests have become a go-to resource during high stress times, such as testing or during fire drills.\r\n\r\nNext Steps:\r\nWe're building on this foundation in exciting ways! Next, we're diving deeper into our self-regulation curriculum where students will learn to identify which sensory tools work best for their unique needs. They'll create personal \"regulation toolkits\" bychoosing their preferred fidgets and strategies, and practice communicating their needs to teachers outside the Resource Room.\r\n\r\nYour generosity gave my students the message that their needs matter and that they deserve tools to help them succeed. I launch a short model lesson with clear slides, then students rotate through matched print and digital tasks. Centers start fast, run smoothly, and give clean exit-ticket data I use to form groups that fit each learner. Students know what to do, where to go, and how to show their thinking.\r\n\r\nEngagement and confidence are up. In reading, students choose from decodables, response prompts, and fluency recordings. One reluctant reader now finishes a decodable, records a re-read, and graphs words correct each Friday. In math, learners use problem mats to draw models and explain steps. A student who struggled with multi-step problems raised exit-ticket scores from 2 of 4 to 3 or 4 of 4 across a week. Enrichment groups planned budgets for our Smoothie Stand project with TPT organizers, compared unit prices, and presented findings with clear charts.\r\n\r\nThese resources help me target instruction and give timely feedback. Routines are tighter, transitions are shorter, and practice is more purposeful. Students see progress in their work and in the way they talk about strategies.
