Your thoughtfulness and generosity have impacted students across grade levels. When we first received the boxes of games, you could hear the excitement buzzing around the classroom. \"Oh wow, are these for us?\" \"Look, I love that game\". Kids who are usually nose deep in a phone, were excited to receive board games. I knew that as I unboxed and cataloged them, the students would want to play them. I let them choose a game and some friends and just play. The classroom filled with laughter, healthy competition, and fun! The students were learning through play, interacting with classmates, having conversations, and strategizing to improve their game play. \r\nThese games are being used primarily for an after-school program that the school offers for grades 4-8. These games give students the opportunity to have some fun when they have finished their homework. It is both an incentive and a reward. It gives students so many chances to learn to interact with their classmates in healthy competition and good fun.\r\nThese games will be used by many classes to come both after school and at recess. It has afforded many students the unique opportunity to take a break from technology and think for themselves while learning to commincate effectively with their peers.","fullyFundedDate":1761331608540,"projectUrl":"project/the-gaming-club/9706229/","projectTitle":"The Gaming Club","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Orlando","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1697085"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68253","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":339,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":36,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":61,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"18.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":68253,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Gray Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Gray Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/new-jersey-department-of-education/gray-charter-school/68253"}
