The impact of these books on our learning space has been incredible. \r\nIn our game unit, students use the books to explore the different types of games, explore common game design elements, and brainstorm ideas for their own game projects. It has been extremely beneficial for providing a low floor, high ceiling learning environment. Some students will start a project with a vision in mind but struggle with how to build what they want. They have been using the books in our library to explore what concepts in the books could be modified and applied to complete the vision they have in mind. It has been so valuable. \r\nIn addition, I have students that select these books during silent reading time and request to take them home over breaks and weekends to read up on topics that are not covered in my class. Some of these students are not even in my CS course but in my Study Skills class and just really want to learn about computer science. \r\nIt has been a real joy watching my students challenge themselves and develop the confidence to follow their own passions.
