I received items from books to journals to calming tools to fidgets and more. The kids were so excited to see items in my counseling office that they could utilize for small-groups on self-awareness and anxiety, as well as support with individual students that just needed some additional coping strategies. \r\n\r\nWe had the opportunity to use all of the books during small-groups this semester, which really helped students visualize and understand ways to cope with dysregulation, mental health, etc. Kids loved using the books to make their own drawings/posters/visuals of what would work best for them. The books really modeled new ways for students to practice using tools to be successful at school. \r\n\r\nAs far as calming tools, fidgets, putty, etc. that is always a student favorite. We talk about how to incorporate those tools into their overall well being, as well as how to use them to cope with challenging times.
