It's almost like moving into a new home or apartment. Everything was packed up - either hastily or with care- and things were ordered to either replace or support the new students and teachers in the upcoming school year. This is my first year at this school, and although I am entirely grateful for the support and care that is given to me daily, we are all still trying to get our lives together with regard to resources. \r\nComputer carts are still being organized and shared and distributed weekly. Online assignments and state mandated reading and math assessments are being scheduled around who has access to technology and who does not. The generosity of this donation was well timed and entirely appreciated. My students are grateful that we aren't piling up stacks of papers for them to carry around in their backpacks or store in their lockers. \r\nSo, thank you again for gifting my students with tools for their academic success. We promise to take care of them and use them responsibly.","fullyFundedDate":1762368835528,"projectUrl":"project/laptops-for-literature/9828019/","projectTitle":"Laptops for Literature","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Salazar-Amaro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10271409_orig.jpg?crop=1995,1995,x292,y483&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762895707306","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10271409"},{"teacherId":10271409,"projectId":9768427,"letterContent":"My English students are unbelievably grateful for the generosity that has been shown to them by receiving this abundance of graphic novels in our classroom. We've had class debates about which ones to read first and which grade levels should read what, and it is so refreshing to see students so engaged and invested in their own education. \r\nWe will continue to use these books to learn more about issues related to identity, especially as it applies and relates to the identities of my students. \r\nThank you again for giving my students such wonderful gifts and opportunities for learning.","fullyFundedDate":1762368835511,"projectUrl":"project/identity-heroes/9768427/","projectTitle":"Identity Heroes","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Salazar-Amaro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10271409_orig.jpg?crop=1995,1995,x292,y483&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762895707306","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10271409"},{"teacherId":10271409,"projectId":9735295,"letterContent":"When I received the notification that these graphic novels were funded, I was flabbergasted. I had high hopes that I would be able to procure these materials for my classes, but I never imagined that the request would be filled so quickly. I announced to my classes that we would be reading some graphic novels for our next unit and they assumed it would be a digital read. Most of them are used to relying on digital media to offer them access to graphic novels and comics since those items are not usually factored into a school's budget. However, the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Foundation changed our minds about that. \r\nMy students were incredibly excited when the box arrived and they quickly helped me display the books at the front of the room. Many of them debated amongst themselves which book we should read first. (Long Way Down was the winner.)\r\nI am getting so many wonderful and engaging conversations from my students now and they are making connections between the character's conflicts and what they are experiencing in their own lives. This was indeed a blessing and I'm thankful for DonorsChoose.","fullyFundedDate":1758899302321,"projectUrl":"project/graphicsocial-issues/9735295/","projectTitle":"Graphic+Social Issues","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Salazar-Amaro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10271409_orig.jpg?crop=1995,1995,x292,y483&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762895707306","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10271409"},{"teacherId":4247735,"projectId":8980153,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation that allowed the purchase of my classroom document camera!\r\n\r\nThough things in the classroom are often done digitally these days, I feel that there really is no substitute for good old fashioned pen and paper-- particularly when it comes to student writing. Unfortunately, as most people know, sharing a student's writing with the class, in a visual medium, is often difficult since loose leaf paper is too small to hold up in front of the class for all to see.\r\n\r\nThe document camera solves this issue; with the use of the camera, student writing is now being displayed as a learning tool for all students. I can also put worksheets and articles under the camera for all students to see which also helps to save paper and toner since copies don't have to be made.\r\n\r\nThank you for your invaluable contribution!","fullyFundedDate":1733274636443,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-classroom-get-a-document-camera/8980153/","projectTitle":"Help Our Classroom Get a Document Camera!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Felder-Salvador","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4247735_orig.jpg?crop=4284,4284,x0,y714&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1766160719911","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4247735"},{"teacherId":4247735,"projectId":8965670,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom for the white boards. \r\n\r\nSince their purchase and delivery, my students have been able to engage in collaborative work more frequently and we have been able to save paper!
