Because of you, our classrooms have become more than just a place for learning—it's a space where students feel cared for, supported, and ready to succeed.\r\n\r\nWe use the donated snacks daily, especially during moments when learning and emotional regulation intersect. For many of my students, having access to a snack during small groups, counseling lessons, or after assessments helps them stay focused, calm, and engaged. One moment that stands out was during a small-group session when a student who often struggles to concentrate was able to fully participate and share openly—something that doesn't always happen—simply because their basic need for food was met first.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snacks, their reactions were immediate and heartfelt. There were big smiles, excited whispers, and a noticeable sense of relief. Several students asked, \"Are these for us?\" and \"Can we have these every day?\" It was clear that the snacks meant more than just food—they represented comfort, stability, and someone outside of our school believing in them.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has also helped reinforce an important lesson: it's okay to ask for help, and there are people who care about their well-being. That message alone has made a powerful impact on my students' confidence and sense of belonging.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, the snacks will continue to support students during counseling lessons focused on self-regulation, emotional awareness, and coping strategies. By ensuring students' basic needs are met, we are able to dive deeper into learning and personal growth without hunger being a barrier.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students a little peek into a world where kindness and generosity show up in meaningful ways. Your support has made a real difference in their daily school experience, and it is deeply appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1758290956773,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-matter/9415909/","projectTitle":"Snacks Matter!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cajuste","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9071035"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54049","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":494,"numTeachers":42,"percentFrplEligible":53,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":25,"percentWhite":11,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.4,"schoolId":54049,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Goshen Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Goshen Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/montgomery-county-public-schools/goshen-elementary-school/54049"}
