The privacy boards have made a huge difference and my students have been able work on their own in a quiet setting. Being able to do this has helped all students become more successful when taking assessments. \r\n\r\nOur speaker went missing last summer and finally having a new speaker for our read alouds has been amazing. The minute we got it we started a novel and the kids were thrilled to be able to listen and follow along in the book. This strategy really increases comprehension in all students! \r\n\r\nOnce again thank you for this generous gift. The students can easily toss it around and their voices sound crisp and clear so everyone can be heard. Also, the lights on the new microphone make it so easy to see when it's time to speak. Our older version of the speaker ball requires some wait time, which can cause frustration for the students. We are using our speaker ball every single day! Furthermore, the charging and sanitizing case is awesome! It gives us a great place to safely store and charge our ball at the end of the day. The sixth graders are loving the new equipment for our PE rotations! We are so excited to have all four of our handball courts up and running so everyone can get more play time. We even had two extra handballs that can be used for four square on the days when we can't use the field. The new equipment has made all the difference!\r\n\r\nWhen the box arrived, most of the students had no idea what might be inside. When I opened it and started pulling everything out though, there were cheers of excitement across the room. Since my class does PE with the other sixth grade class too, we closed everything back up and sent the box down the hall so the other sixth graders could have the same experience. And when that present is a Cricut machine for art projects, even the teacher is excited! When we unpacked our new Cricut machine, our students knew we were in for a treat.\r\n\r\nWe were right in the middle of our Flat Stanley unit, so the Cricut was perfect for creating flat versions of ourselves. Students were able to choose their skin tone and the Cricut magically create their flat person. They then used tracers (also made on the Cricut) to use fun scrapbooking paper to dress their flat person. This was a fun way to connect with the text.\r\n\r\nBut the highlight was designing our own school spirit shirt! We spent weeks drawing owls, and when we finally picked our favorite one, Cricut was able to cut them into personalized spirit wear shirts. Each student had their own owl on their shirt! It was such a hit, now parents are asking for their own shirts with their student's drawing on it. \r\n\r\nThe Cricut is an amazing tool, and it has really opened up opportunities for creative expressions as well as bringing our families together in art.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for sharing our passion for art in education.","fullyFundedDate":1733267518632,"projectUrl":"project/2nd-graders-are-making-things-awesome/8927712/","projectTitle":"2nd Graders Are Making Things Awesome!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fayne","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp489023_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1514829165030","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rfayne"},{"teacherId":355516,"projectId":8844661,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding \"Marvelous Math Manipulatives\" My students were so excited to open the boxes and see all the great manipulatives inside each one.
