The JodyJazz HR Hard Rubber Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece*. We had students test this mouthpiece compared to others they may have used before, guiding them on how to adjust their embouchure and air support for a better, more expressive tone. The Titan Folding Alto or Tenor Saxophone Stand with Single Flute or Clarinet Peg. We could use this to ensure students keep their instruments safe when they're not playing. I'd have them practice proper setup and teardown, teaching them to take care of their instruments while also learning how to multitask by organizing their gear during group performances. The Grover Pro Pro Musical Anvil Hammer Dual-Sided has been used to properly play the musical instrument known as an anvil. The Musician's Gear A-frame Stand and Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable. These would be used for supporting any guitar or electric bass students in the class, making sure all instruments are properly cared for, with good organization for cables and gear. The Earasers Musicians Plugs. These would be helpful in a noisy rehearsal setting or during loud performances to protect students' hearing. \r\n There was a lot of excitement, especially as the students realized how each item was going to enhance their playing or make their musical environment more organized. Some students even get a little more invested in their instruments, wanting to learn about the gear and how it helps them improve. Next Steps for the Saxophone Students: Now that students have had the chance to experiment with the JodyJazz HR Hard Rubber Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece* and other gear, the next step would be diving deeper into tone development and expressive playing. They'll continue practicing with the mouthpieces, and I'll be guiding them to find the sound that best suits their personal style. After refining their tone, we'll start incorporating more dynamic range exercises to help them express emotion through their playing. The students will also focus on adjusting their embouchure to maximize their sound on their new equipment.\r\n For guitar and bass students, we'll move forward with exploring different musical genres and incorporating improvised solos. We'll be using the Musician's Gear A-frame Stands to ensure their instruments are safely set up and ready for practice, and the Dunlop Max Grip Jazz III Carbon Fiber Guitar Picks will allow them to experiment with their picking technique in more intricate music styles. I'll have them practice in groups where they take turns improvising, using their new stands to keep their instruments handy while they swap between rhythm and lead parts. The Musician's Gear Tweed Right Angle Instrument Cable will help us reduce clutter during group rehearsals.\r\nWe're also working towards a final performance at the end of the semester that incorporates everything we've learned so far. This will involve both group and individual performances where students showcase their mastery of the tone and technique they've developed. We'll have a \"show-and-tell\" session where students talk about how their new gear has influenced their playing and what they've learned about their instruments. This will be a great opportunity for them to reflect on their growth, and for donors to see how their contributions are directly impacting the students' progress. Donors will be thrilled to hear that their support is helping students not only improve technically, but also become more invested in their instruments and their craft.","fullyFundedDate":1727629626303,"projectUrl":"project/the-transformative-power-of-music-in-men/8818797/","projectTitle":"The Transformative Power of Music in Mental Health","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9777051"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_106862","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":380,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":48,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":38,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":106862,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Global Concepts Charter High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Global Concepts Charter High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-state-department-education/global-concepts-charter-high-school/106862"}
