Children are pretending to call each other and the teachers to order food or pizza's is the big thing for us right now. \r\n\r\nMy class when they saw the new dollhouse were elated after not having one for about a week. Once our old one finally saw its final day, my students were upset they no longer had a place to play with our dolls. \r\n\r\nWe are currently working on a new outdoor play kitchen, end of the year projects, and a new shed for our yard. At the time of purchase, the bike was no longer in stock, so I purchased some SEL materials from Lakeshore and pretend phones to use in the dramatic play center. \r\n\r\nTo say the phones were a hit is an understatement! Every day, they pretend to call each other and the teachers to place food orders or ask if we are thirsty. They know all their teachers like coffee, so usually it's coffee for sale or juice! I also lost count of how many pizzas I have been asked to order! \r\n\r\nThey are having so much fun with our new items and look forward to playing every day! Lego sets help the students learn to problem solve and how parts can work together to accomplish a goal or build a structure. It also helps them be more detail oriented.
