One powerful moment was watching a student who typically feels overwhelmed by text successfully track and highlight main ideas with confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were excited and eager to use them. Many immediately noticed how the highlighters made it easier to go back and locate important information in the text. Students who often struggle to stay organized or focused expressed relief and pride in their work, and the classroom atmosphere became noticeably calmer and more focused. These tools have helped reduce frustration and increase participation, allowing students to feel more successful during lessons.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are continuing to use color-coding strategies in our current reading comprehension and writing projects. Students are applying consistent color systems to organize paragraphs, identify evidence, and prepare for assessments. We no longer struggle with broken pencils or frustration, just smooth transitions and more time spent learning. We opened the box together and talked about how friends, family, and community members see what a positive space the library has been and how those people want to help contribute to the sense of community in the library by donating to fund purchases like these games.\r\n\r\nThe students have also been super enthusiastic about and appreciative of the bookmarks. They love browsing the different animal bookmarks to select while they wait in line to check out their books. The scented bookmarks have also been a hit, with many more students than expected liking the banana scent - ha!
