It has provided a sturdy, professional structure to safely hold our new lights, allowing students to work in a more organized and efficient production environment. Instead of struggling with makeshift setups, they now get to operate equipment that behaves the way real studio gear should. This has boosted their confidence and given them hands-on experience with tools used in actual broadcast and media settings.\r\n\r\nThe softbox lights and LED fixtures have also transformed the quality of our recordings. They create even, reliable lighting for our podcast sessions and give students a chance to experiment with color temperature, shadows, and creative lighting techniques. These new tools have made our student hosts and guests look their best on camera while helping our tech students learn how lighting affects mood, clarity, and professionalism.\r\n\r\nAs we prepare to launch our morning announcements, this lighting upgrade has become an essential part of our workflow. Students are learning faster, collaborating more effectively, and taking pride in producing media that reflects their talent and hard work. The impact of this project is already visible every day in the way our students step into the studio—excited, engaged, and ready to create.","fullyFundedDate":1751389793389,"projectUrl":"project/lights-camera-action-empowering-stude/9155659/","projectTitle":"Lights, Camera, Action: Empowering Student Visions","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rogalski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp331344_orig.png?crop=926,926,x98,y31&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737645257628","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hotsteel"},{"teacherId":9519470,"projectId":9069583,"letterContent":"Welcome to a brand new school year! I hope that you are enjoying the fall breeze and winds of change wherever you are. Glasgow's incoming freshmen were greeted this morning by a brand new outdoor classroom, thanks to your incredible generosity! I hope you have had a chance to see the photos I uploaded and look forward to sharing stories of their use on social media through Christina School District.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we are working to incorporate the outdoor classroom into our positive behavior incentives. Students who improve upon their personal record and achieve outstanding educational outcomes will be able to enjoy a refreshing, tangible reminder of their accomplishments during their lunch period. We are excited for this evidence based approach to wellbeing that will help them recharge their spirit for the remaining work ahead.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, I am creating a process for all academic programs to make use of the space as an outdoor learning area. I anticipate it will be heavily used by the design program for photography and videography staging, and the natural light will be similarly appreciated by the 2D and 3D art programs as well as the art and drama clubs. The vision, however, is that every class can now keep the academic routine fresh and take advantage of a change in scenery to keep students energized and engaged. I have no doubt this will help us raise their academic achievements and support their lifelong success, and thank you again for being part of this work to support Delaware public school students.","fullyFundedDate":1743638193571,"projectUrl":"project/bring-the-sunshine-to-outstanding-title/9069583/","projectTitle":"Bring the sunshine to outstanding Title I high school students!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Impagliazzo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9519470"},{"teacherId":9255382,"projectId":8924996,"letterContent":"Students are using the new resources for cheerleading practices. Students came in at lunch and worked after school on projects once the new tools arrived. \r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue to grow their 3D skill set with continued exploration of metals and jewelry fabrication. These skills, sawing, filing, annealing, soldering, can all be transferred to a variety of professions beyong high school, and some students are now looking into trade pathways as a way to apply their new skill set. Students used the materials and tools that your donations purchased to: cut and saw metal with jewelry saw, file and smooth edges, and use soldering techniques to connect pieces. Students loved this project. For all students, this was their first time using metal as a medium. They were so excited to see and utilize the materials. \r\n\r\nThe students created unique, beautiful, wearable works of art, some of which will be featured in our Spring district art show to celebrate Youth Art Month, a nation-wide art celebration for youth artists. \r\n\r\nNext semester, I plan to expand our jewelry and metal studies to include new jewelry techniques. Students in piano, guitar, band, chorus, and orchestra, and music technology finally have reliable equipment. In keyboard and guitar classes, led by our choir teacher, the availability of 1/4\" cables has eliminated the daily struggle of sharing the few functioning ones we previously had. Students now focus on their developing skills without the frustration of technical problems and their enthusiasm and confidence in class have grown accordingly.\r\n\r\nThe XLR microphone cables have been a game-changer for both performances and recordings. As band director, I have utilized them in the music and audio technology class, where students record their own music and explore audio engineering basics. On stage, these cables ensure clear sound for wireless microphones connected to our mixer, elevating performances for the musical, school events and more. The orchestra teacher, working with a smaller ensemble, uses the cables to amplify soloists during performances, creating an engaging experience for audiences. I put them to use to the greatest extent at our district's Annual District Band Festival, bringing students from 7 different schools together to play on stage.\r\n\r\nThese cables help students avoid the embarrassment of equipment failures and allowed them to focus on simple making music. Most importantly, they symbolize a renewed sense of pride and opportunity within our program. From the choir teacher inspiring singers and instrumentalists to the band director combining winds, percussion and electronic instruments and shaping future audio engineers, to the orchestra teacher fostering string players' talents, these tools empower students and educators alike. Thank you for making such a profound and lasting difference in our ensembles.","fullyFundedDate":1360843866124,"projectUrl":"project/the-audio-cable-guy/964861/","projectTitle":"The (Audio) Cable Guy","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rogalski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp331344_orig.png?crop=926,926,x98,y31&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737645257628","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hotsteel"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_44548","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":697,"numTeachers":46,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":44,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"8 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.3,"schoolId":44548,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Glasgow High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Glasgow High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/delaware/christina-school-district/glasgow-high-school/44548"}
