Because of your generosity, my students now have access to a 3D printer that has transformed motivation and engagement in our classroom. Using the printer, I've been able to create fidget toys, small personalized items, and other rewards that students earn through effort, focus, and goal-setting. These items are more than rewards—they are meaningful tools that help students stay regulated, focused, and confident throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is seeing how technology can directly benefit them. Many of my students struggle with attention and self-regulation, and the fidget tools printed specifically for their needs have made a noticeable difference. Students who once avoided tasks are now more willing to stay engaged because they know their hard work leads to something tangible and useful. The printer has also sparked curiosity and pride, as students love knowing that their rewards were created just for them.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who typically struggle with motivation have especially warmed to this technology. They now ask thoughtful questions about how items are made and take greater ownership of their behavior and academic goals. Thanks to you, learning feels achievable, rewarding, and fun—and my students feel seen, supported, and successful.","fullyFundedDate":1758732582241,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printing-prizes-skills-and-smiles-f/9726020/","projectTitle":"3D Printing Prizes, Skills, and Smiles for My SPED Stars","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rusty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9882412_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y81&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758228570788","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9882412"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16820","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":398,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":33,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":16820,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Gilbert School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Gilbert School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/franklin-parish-school-district/gilbert-junior-high-school/16820"}
