I am an assistant principal at Gibbs High School and have led the Fishing Club for the past 9 years. It is my favorite part of being an administrator at Gibbs High School and it would not be possible without the support from the community. I really enjoy watching the students get excited catching fish and learning all about fishing. Gibbs High School has a lot of great students --many of whom are under privileged and struggle with poverty issues. I wanted to run club that students did not have to pay for anything and also have no requirements as far as discipline or grades. I believe that many students have benefitted over the years from being involved in the club and it has had a positive impact in their academics and life-long goals. From the moment it arrived, the girls' faces lit up with excitement—they couldn't believe they would finally have access to a professional-quality system of their own.\r\n\r\nSince then, the net has become the centerpiece of our practices, helping the team grow in both skill and confidence. We used it to host our Preseason Volleyball Classic, giving our athletes the chance to compete at home and showcase their hard work. It's also allowed us to hold open gyms, which has drawn in new players and built more interest in the program. Beyond the games themselves, the net system has given the players a sense of responsibility—taking pride in setting up and caring for the equipment has become part of their team culture.\r\n\r\nNext, we're using the net to continue developing skills as we move deeper into the season. Every serve, set, and spike is made possible because of your generosity, and our athletes are more motivated than ever. Thanks to your donation, we received brand new volleyballs and a ball cart, and the impact has already been incredible. The moment our students saw the equipment, their faces lit up with excitement. Many of them ran straight to the court, eager to start practicing. It was more than just new gear—it was a clear message to them that their growth, goals, and love for the game matter.\r\n\r\nWe've already put the volleyballs to great use during team practices. With more balls available, our players can now practice in smaller groups, which has dramatically increased the amount of individual touches and skill development in each session. One of our recent drills focused on improving serve accuracy and consistency, and because of the extra balls, students were able to rotate quickly and stay engaged throughout. The new ball cart has also helped us stay organized and efficient—keeping everything in one place and making setup and cleanup much faster.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our team is preparing for an upcoming scrimmage, and this equipment is helping us train harder and smarter.
