Because of your generosity, my students now have access to high-quality books that are making a meaningful difference in their learning every single day.\r\n\r\nWhile many of you love reading (just like we do!), teaching students how to truly understand and engage with books involves building a wide range of important skills. Through these new texts, my students are learning how to identify themes, analyze characters, make predictions, and support their thinking with evidence from the story. We are also working on vocabulary development, comprehension strategies, and meaningful discussions that help students think more deeply about what they read.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an active and exciting experience. Students read both independently and together, participate in small group discussions, and respond to what they read through writing and creative activities. You might see students making connections between the story and their own lives, asking thoughtful questions, or even acting out scenes to better understand the characters. The books you provided have helped transform reading time into something students truly look forward to.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously hesitant readers have really come alive during this project. One student, who often struggled to stay engaged, now eagerly volunteers to read aloud and share ideas during discussions. Another student has developed a love for predicting what will happen next and gets excited to see if their ideas are correct. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch their confidence grow as they connect with these stories.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only provided books—it has opened the door to curiosity, confidence, and a deeper love of reading.
