The new lap desks have been a wonderful addition to our classroom. We've been using them on the rug during whole group activities, and they also provide students with the flexibility to choose where they'd like to work independently. Additionally, the whiteboards are used daily in our small group stations and during one-on-one instruction with teachers.\r\n\r\nMy students were absolutely thrilled with the new materials! Their faces lit up with big smiles when I showed them the lap desks and explained how we would be using them.\r\n\r\nWe've already found the lap desks incredibly helpful when working on the rug, particularly for sharing ideas and conducting research on natural disasters. I am so grateful for these materials, as they have significantly improved my students' ability to access learning by providing a stable workspace even on the rug.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous support!","fullyFundedDate":1739051440585,"projectUrl":"project/learning-without-limits-empowering-stud/9089402/","projectTitle":"Learning Without Limits: Empowering Students to Learn Anywhere","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Everett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9370293_orig.jpg?crop=902,902,x0,y42&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1700173481288","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9370293"},{"teacherId":3363792,"projectId":9027861,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations towards our headphone and aux extenders. The students have spent the last few months learning about world geography and the United States across two social studies units. Part of geography includes learning about different landforms found worldwide. \r\n\r\nAs a final project, students worked in groups to study specific regions of the United States. In their groups, the students studied, landforms, water forms, culture and government related to their regions. The students then used the poster board to outline the states in their regions. When put together, the groups formed one giant map of the United States. Students then created a 3D physical and political map using the clay you provided. They formed mountains, rivers, canyons, coastlines and many other things. They also used the clay to mold models of cultural aspects of their regions. For example, students studying the Midwest created brown plains and built farms and ears of corn. Students studying the Southwest built the Grany Canyon and cacti.\r\n\r\nWhen the students found out they were going to be using clay, they cheered and danced (literally). Every single student was able to use the materials to draw AND build something. They helped each other and were completely engaged in their learning. Seeing them all so focused and excited about a project made it worthwhile.","fullyFundedDate":1734494890594,"projectUrl":"project/landform-formation/8888113/","projectTitle":"Landform Formation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Velazquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9807642"},{"teacherId":9378950,"projectId":8684701,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of my DonorsChoose project! Thanks to your contributions, I was able to purchase a wobble stool, a new book display, \"bouncy bands\" for student chairs, and five additional stools, giving my students more flexible seating options in our classroom. These materials have already made a noticeable difference in creating a more dynamic and engaging learning environment. The wobble stool, in particular, has been a hit, offering students a fun way to stay active while focusing on their work. The new book display has also sparked excitement, making it easier for my students to access and explore books during reading time.\r\n\r\nThe students are thrilled to have a choice in their seating, and it's been heartwarming to see how empowered they feel when selecting what works best for their learning needs. This level of flexibility wouldn't have been possible without your kindness and generosity. Your support has helped transform our classroom into a more inclusive and accommodating space, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
