They kept saying things like, \"We each get our own?\" and \"These are brand new!\" For many of them, just having access to their own headphones or fresh supplies gave them a boost of confidence and a sense of ownership over their learning. As we move forward, these essentials will continue to support students in their upcoming narrative writing unit and during small-group centers where they rotate through reading, writing, and tech-based activities.
