They were eager to explore these new seating options, especially because of the freedom they provided compared to traditional desk chairs. I had been looking for ways to make learning more comfortable and engaging for my students, particularly those who struggle with staying still for long periods. The wobble stools were a perfect solution, offering both flexibility and comfort, while also encouraging movement.\r\n\r\nWe use the wobble stools daily, particularly during our reading and math groups. These groups are structured to provide individualized instruction based on the unique needs of each student. Whether it's a small group reading session, a math problem-solving task, or a hands-on activity, the stools have become an integral part of our routine. In our reading groups, students often use the wobble stools to help them stay engaged as they listen, discuss, and work through comprehension strategies. They're able to move subtly while still maintaining focus on the material at hand. Similarly, in math groups, the stools allow students to stay actively involved in collaborative problem-solving tasks without feeling restricted by their seating.\r\n\r\nThe use of wobble stools has made a noticeable difference in the dynamics of my classroom. The ability to move while learning has helped some of my more kinesthetic learners thrive, allowing them to process information in a way that feels natural and comfortable for them. At the same time, the stools have given all of my students a sense of ownership over their learning environment. The excitement they showed at the beginning has turned into genuine enthusiasm, as they now associate the stools with a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages active engagement and personalized learning.\r\n\r\nOverall, the wobble stools have proven to be an invaluable resource in my classroom. Not only do they provide physical comfort, but they also support the individualized nature of our reading and math groups. It's been rewarding to see how a small change in seating can have such a big impact on my students' focus, engagement, and learning outcomes.","fullyFundedDate":1726114772046,"projectUrl":"project/active-bodies-for-active-learning/8751332/","projectTitle":"Active Bodies for Active Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Grace","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9737567"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79605","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":184,"numTeachers":9,"percentFrplEligible":68,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":20,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":78,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.4,"schoolId":79605,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about General Shafter Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"General Shafter Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/general-shafter-elementary-school-district/general-shafter-elementary-school/79605"}
