Our classroom has enjoyed our new TonieBox so much! The students were so excited when I introduced the TonieBox to the classroom in the beginning of January.\r\n\r\nI created a special area in the classroom where the students would be able to access the TonieBox whenever they want. On the table for the TonieBox, I added a lazy Susan so that the students would be able to turn the base to access the Tonie figure of their choice. I also added magnet stickers around the lazy Susan so the Tonie figures would have a designated spot. \r\n\r\nAfter introducing the TonieBox to our classroom, the students understood the rules of the TonieBox as well as the mechanicals on how to work the TonieBox. The students know that to turn on the TonieBox you have to hold down one of the ears and to skip the song you hit the TonieBox on its side. In addition to items we purchased with your generous donations, I added two pair of headphones along with a splicer so two students could listen to the TonieBox at one time. Other items added to the area were books that went with the Tonie figures such as Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Giraffes Can't Dance, and Brown Bear Brown Bear. The books are stored in baskets next to the TonieBox table where the students are able to select books to match their TonieBox figure. \r\n\r\nI have been so impressed with how much all the students love the TonieBox in our classroom and how often the students explore and use the TonieBox. It gets used multiple times a day and many times there are more than 2 students that are wanting to sit and explore it. I have also incorporated the TonieBox during our circle time and have the Tonie character read the book to the students. I have even recorded myself reading books onto an Tonie. This allows me to place it on the TonieBox during our read aloud. \r\n\r\nOne feature that I love about the TonieBox is it incorporates technology and literacy without involving any screens. I feel that many children are subjected to so many screens throughout their day. With the TonieBox, the students are getting the information they would get from a screen with just the audio input. \r\n\r\nWe are already planning on adding more TonieBox figures such as Bluey and Ms. Rachel. I am going to select blank Tonie figures and paint them to match each character. \r\n\r\nThank you again! Your donations have definitely made a positive impact for our classroom. The students like to watch the cause and effect that their bodies can make on the tiles. \r\n\r\nThe squishy gumdrops are perfect for my students to gain some strength in their little hands and be able to participate in manipulating something soft while keeping their hands clean. \r\n\r\nThank you again for helping out our classroom.
