They are happy to have books about different topics that are still at their reading level. Having books at their reading level makes them feel confident as readers, while having books with new topics helps keep their interest in reading. \r\n\r\nMy students have been reading these books in class during independent reading practice time. They also have been taking them home to read to their families for practice at home. At home, they are able to show their families the new reading skills they have learned in school. \r\n\r\nI love to see the smiles on my students' faces when they read topics they enjoy. They have been choosing these books over and over.
