When our M.A.T.H. supplies arrived, our students were so excited to do a classroom \"unboxing\" of the fun, hands-on math materials. Of course they wanted to use everything right away. They have been busy using all these materials to help further their exploration of math concepts using tangible, hands-on objects like the inch/cm rulers, math symbol magnets for a fun way to create equations and compare numbers and the set of play money. All of which helps in building conceptual understanding. \r\n\r\nCurrently, in addition to studying measurement in math, we are learning about how plants grow and the interdependence of plants and animals. The students have been measuring how much our plant is growing using their new rulers. They've also been having the best time measuring objects in the classroom, including their classmates!
