Living and growing up in rural Alaska, they are used to figuring things out, adapting, and making the most of what they have. Having the LEGO SPIKE set in our classroom gave them a chance to take those skills and use them in a completely new way.\r\n\r\nWatching my students work with the Lego Spike was such a rewarding experience. They built, programmed, tested their ideas, made mistakes, started over, and celebrated when something finally worked. I loved seeing students who sometimes hesitated to participate become excited about sharing their ideas and helping their classmates. They learned that it was okay when something didn't work the first time—it was simply a reason to try again.\r\n\r\nThe project became about much more than building things. My students practiced problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and perseverance without even realizing how much they were learning. Most importantly, they got to experience the feeling of creating something themselves and watching an idea come to life.\r\n\r\nFor students in a remote Alaska community, access to experiences like this can make a lasting impression. Your support gave them the chance to explore STEM in a hands-on and meaningful way, and it helped them see possibilities beyond what they may encounter in our small community.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for investing in their learning.
