When the boxes arrived, the students immediately gathered around, eager to see what was inside. As we unpacked the supplies together, you could hear students saying things like, \"We can really use this!\" and \"How they cant wait to read on the bean bags.\" Their excitement reminded me how meaningful these resources are for them.\r\n\r\nWe have already started using the materials during our daily lessons. One memorable moment happened during a small group activity when students used the new resources to work through a collaborative problem-solving task. As well as the \"working color cards\" The materials made it easier for them to visualize their thinking, share ideas with classmates, and stay engaged throughout the lesson. Students who are sometimes hesitant to speak up are able to use the color cards to indicate if they need help and how they are doing. \r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were full of curiosity and gratitude. Many asked where the supplies came from, and we talked about the generous donors who wanted to support their learning. Several students said \"thank you\" and shared how excited they were to use the materials in class. They thought I purchased everything with my own money! \r\n\r\nThese resources will continue to play an important role in our upcoming lessons. Next, students will use them during a project-based activity where they will apply what they've been learning to create, explore, and present their ideas. The materials will help them work more independently, collaborate with classmates, and deepen their understanding of the concepts we're studying.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting My 2 classrooms and making these experiences possible. Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in the way my students experience reading and storytelling.\r\n\r\nThe Toniebox has become much more than a listening device, it has become a powerful tool for literacy, creativity, and student leadership. Through listening to stories, students are able to hear fluent reading modeled with expression and rhythm. This has been especially impactful for students who are two to three grade levels behind. These students eagerly listen to stories and often replay them, which helps them build fluency, strengthen comprehension, and grow their confidence as readers.\r\n\r\nMy multilingual learners have also greatly benefited from this technology. They enjoy hearing the different voices and expressions used by characters and often imitate them when retelling stories. For example, after listening to Dragons Love Tacos, students enthusiastically practiced the character voices and incorporated them into their own storytelling. These moments make language learning joyful and engaging.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting features for students is the opportunity to record their own voices. The Toniebox allows students to create book reviews, record their own stories, and read aloud for others. Students who are above grade level have especially embraced this opportunity. They enjoy creating recordings for their classmates and younger students, which allows them to take on leadership roles while strengthening their reading and speaking skills.\r\n\r\nPerhaps the most rewarding outcome has been seeing students truly connect with reading. Struggling readers are excited to listen and follow along with stories, multilingual learners are building confidence with language, and advanced readers are using the Toniebox to express their creativity and support their peers.\r\n\r\nDue to your generosity, reading in our classroom has become a shared and joyful experience where students are not only listeners, but also storytellers, reviewers, and role models for one another. They have given students the tools to express how they feel during daily check-ins and especially on days when they are overwhelmed by big emotions. One student in particular, who previously struggled to communicate his feelings, has shown remarkable progress. With the support of the cards, along with sentence starters and language frames, he is now able to identify his emotions and take steps to manage them.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the conversation cards have greatly supported our focus on developing speaking skills—one of the key language domains in our ELD program. I truly appreciate how the questions are differentiated (easy, medium, and challenging), allowing all students to participate at their level. These resources have been so effective that I've also shared them with my ELD team, and we've incorporated them into our professional development sessions and staff check-ins.\r\n\r\nThe easel and dry-erase boards have also been valuable tools, giving students more opportunities to practice and build their writing skills in an engaging way. Furthermore, the healthy snacks you provided have brought comfort to our multilingual learners, helping reduce stress and supporting a positive learning environment. These snacks have also served as meaningful incentives, encouraging students to meet high expectations during testing and activities like our weekly Joy School sessions.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your generosity is truly making a difference in the lives of my multilingual learners. Students help wipe down shared materials and surfaces, learning responsibility while also understanding the importance of hygiene and community care. Being able to keep our classroom clean and bacteria-free has helped reduce student absences and allowed us to focus more consistently on learning. The SEL sensory toys have been especially impactful for my students receiving special education services. When the instruments first arrived, the excitement in the classroom was immediate—students couldn't believe they had \"real drums\" and tambourines to use. Their curiosity and enthusiasm set the tone for deeper engagement and meaningful learning.\r\n\r\nThe drums have allowed us to start a small drumming ensemble right in our classroom. Students work together to keep steady beats, listen to one another, and perform simple rhythmic patterns as a group. This ensemble work has strengthened teamwork, focus, and confidence, especially for students who shine when learning is active and musical. The tambourines have been especially helpful in connecting music to math concepts. We use them to count beats, practice fractions, explore patterns, and reinforce multiplication through rhythm—helping students see that math and music truly go hand in hand.\r\n\r\nThe snacks included in this project have also made a big difference. They are used as positive reinforcement and encouragement, helping motivate students and support those who may come to class needing a little extra boost. Since receiving the instruments, students have been practicing their first melodies together and building confidence as young musicians. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch students who were initially shy about playing instruments begin to participate enthusiastically as they learn and improve.\r\nThe Amazon Fire Stick has also allowed us to bring music to life in new ways. We have already watched several musicals together in class, which has helped students better understand performance, storytelling, and stage production. These experiences spark great discussions and inspire students to think about how music connects to theater and culture.\r\nLooking ahead, we are especially excited to use our new electric bass guitar in our upcoming school play in June. Students will have the opportunity to hear how live instruments support a performance and some of them will even help contribute musically. When they first saw the rugs, their faces lit up with joy, and several students said our music room now feels \"happy\" and \"like home.\"\r\n\r\nWe have also been using the Disney piano books regularly in class, and they have been a huge hit! On the first day the snacks arrived, my students' faces lit up with joy and relief. One student quietly said, \"Now I won't have to wait until dinner to eat again.\" These resources are used daily to help fuel focus and engagement in class, especially during long afternoons when hunger can become a real barrier to learning. I've seen students concentrate longer, participate more, and feel more comfortable knowing they have something to eat if they need it.
