This tool has added so much creativity and color to our learning environment.\r\n\r\nWe've been using it to make beautiful bulletin boards, classroom decorations, and personalized materials that celebrate our students and their hard work. The Cricut Joy has also helped us make thank-you cards, birthday surprises, and holiday crafts, giving our students meaningful ways to express appreciation and joy.\r\n\r\nWhen the Cricut first arrived, my students were amazed to see it cutting out shapes, letters, and designs. They loved watching their names and classroom phrases come to life in bright colors and fun patterns. It's been especially rewarding to include students in choosing designs and helping with assembly — they take pride in seeing their ideas displayed around the room.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to create holiday cards and gifts to share with staff and families. This project helps students practice social and fine motor skills while spreading kindness and gratitude.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us make our classroom a more cheerful, welcoming, and creative place to learn and grow!","fullyFundedDate":1723166796735,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-special-education-students-wi/8571560/","projectTitle":"Empowering Special Education Students with Circuit Joy Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wendy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9224629"},{"teacherId":9731733,"projectId":8742040,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support! The fidget tools you provided have already made a meaningful impact in our counseling office and on our students. As soon as the materials arrived, we organized a quiet space where students could access these tools when they need a moment to reset. The metal backgammon sets, along with other calming items, have been a calming presence—offering students a healthy outlet to manage stress and anxiety during their school day.\r\n\r\nOne moment that really stood out was when a student came in after a particularly tough morning. Normally restless and unable to sit still, he picked up one of the metal pieces and began quietly setting up a game. Within minutes, he began opening up about what was going on in his life—and by the time he left, he was more regulated and ready to return to class. These kinds of moments are now happening regularly, and they speak to just how powerful these simple tools can be.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our students now have tangible ways to manage the big emotions that come with being a teenager. We'll continue to use these tools daily as part of our support strategy—helping students return to class more focused, grounded, and ready to learn. Your donation wasn't just about items—it was about offering relief, dignity, and care to students who truly need it. I teach American Government, AP World History and AP Micro/Macroeconomics. These maps will help all of my students to gain a better understanding of the world they live in.\r\n\r\nWhile I have used the maps in all of my classes, it was especially helpful in my AP Macroeconomics class last semester. Students used them to locate countries that most were unfamiliar with and then use that as a basis for economic comparisons to the United States. It involved researching various economic indicators such as gross domestic product, GDP per capita, inflation, I have attached a sample of the work done by those students.\r\n\r\nI appreciate the window to the world, you have helped create in my classroom and look forward to using these maps for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1727462911624,"projectUrl":"project/maps-of-the-world/8571025/","projectTitle":"Maps of the World","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Harvey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9286502"},{"teacherId":9731733,"projectId":8830261,"letterContent":"Our students are gaining valuable skills through the new resources provided, including titles like The Anxiety Workbook for Teens and Reversing the Spiral of Depression for Teens. These books introduce practical strategies for managing stress, improving emotional regulation, and fostering resilience—key skills that help students not only in academics but in navigating life's challenges. For example, The Anxiety Workbook for Teens provides exercises that empower students to identify and address triggers of worry with goal-setting to improve motivation and mood. These texts create opportunities for students to engage in structured group discussions, helping them learn from one another and build stronger connections.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom often takes the form of collaborative learning, where students explore themes in the books through group activities and personal journaling. One student, who previously struggled with self-esteem, shared that Building Unstoppable Self-Confidence for Teens has helped her reframe negative thoughts and feel more empowered in social settings. Another student was deeply engaged with Helping Teens Cope with Death, as it offered relatable insights that resonated with her personal experiences. These resources not only enhance learning but also create safe spaces for students to share their thoughts, discover new perspectives, and build the skills they need to succeed academically and beyond.","fullyFundedDate":1728312612228,"projectUrl":"project/transform-student-wellbeing-with-data-dr/8830261/","projectTitle":"Transform Student Wellbeing With Data-Driven, Impactful High School Counseling Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ward","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9731733_orig.jpg?crop=1072,1072,x85,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727457188229","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9731733"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_42835","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1434,"numTeachers":62,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":81,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"23.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":76.7,"schoolId":42835,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fruita Monument High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fruita Monument High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/mesa-county-valley-school-district-51/fruita-monument-high-school/42835"}
