By providing consistent access to healthy snacks, the project helped reduce hunger during the school day, which in turn supported students' ability to focus, engage in classroom activities, and maintain energy levels.\r\n\r\nThere were significant improvements in student attentiveness and participation, especially in the mid-morning and afternoon hours when hunger often affected performance. Additionally, students expressed gratitude and a greater sense of being cared for, which contributed to a more positive school environment.\r\n\r\nFor many families, the project eased the financial burden of providing daily snacks, making a tangible difference in their weekly food budgeting. Overall, the initiative not only met a basic need but also reinforced the importance of community support and equity in education.","fullyFundedDate":1744033063875,"projectUrl":"project/snack-and-math/9166341/","projectTitle":"Snack and Math","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ott Door 28","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9838146"},{"teacherId":9684096,"projectId":8669583,"letterContent":"My room already feels like a fresh start, and I want to thank you for your contributions to that calm.\r\n\r\nPersonally, I've found it as such a relief to not have to wear blue light glasses to just exist in my own space here. The lights gave me headaches because they are bright fluorescent, and kids complained about them every day. Every day my kids would ask to shut the lights off an open the curtains for the natural light because the overheads were just too bright. Buffalo winters don't always allow for that sunshine, so it's been so nice to use what the room already has. The kids have made several comments about loving the new light tone in here.\r\n\r\nSecondly, I can't say the kids are that excited about a phone holder that makes their most prized possession away from them, but this teacher can say she is sure excited. It's been a new layer of organization and focus in the classroom. Kids are getting so much more work done without sneaky their messages and socials during class. I have been working on an exit exam for one of my courses, and this tool has been extremely valuable.\r\n\r\nFinally, adding to this, students can also choose a more fun way to hide their phones in our new charging station. I can't think of a better tool to make kids think they are getting their way, while it's really benefiting us both. The kids love the charging station, and I love the phones out of sight!\r\n\r\nThank you so much again for helping to make my project happen. I am so thankful that you chose to help my classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1734546654251,"projectUrl":"project/a-room-that-feels-like-home/8669583/","projectTitle":"A Room that Feels Like Home","teacherDisplayName":"Srta.
