As many of you know, my passion is teaching young children how to read, and the materials you provided will play a major role in supporting that mission.\r\n\r\nThe CVC word practice activities have already been incredibly helpful in teaching my students that letters make sounds and those sounds form words. This specific game will support them as they work to improve their DIBELS scores and build essential early literacy skills. The books you funded are also making a huge difference by giving my students opportunities to read simple sentences using their sight words and CVC words with growing confidence.\r\n\r\nIn short, thank you for helping provide my students and me with the tools we need to get their learning off the ground. In 11 years of teaching this is the first class that loved reading the books I provided. I was so excited when the books came but students were gone. They were wondering what were in the boxes when arriving the next morning. I had students sit in circle and slowly started putting books in the middle. There eyes lit up to see so many new books. THe asked if they could read them. We took about 30 minutes to explore the books and then everyone picked one to take to their seat to read through the day. I showed the big books to them and read the big book from Caterpillar to Butterfly. I got the puppet out and used it to read the story. The students were so excited to use the puppet and read to a friend. \r\nThank You so much for blessing my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1746787212837,"projectUrl":"project/books-for-excelling-and-practice/9243776/","projectTitle":"Books For Excelling and Practice","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gregg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2429545_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1470739953600","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsgregg"},{"teacherId":7780547,"projectId":9176316,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in helping bring an iPad into our kindergarten classroom! Your kindness has made a direct impact on how I'm able to support my students socially, emotionally, and academically each day.\r\n\r\nWith this iPad, I'm now able to move freely around the classroom while taking anecdotal notes, tracking student behavior and progress, and instantly communicating with families through ClassDojo. This real-time mobility allows me to stay engaged with students while managing data more efficiently which is a game-changer for both instruction and classroom management.\r\n\r\nThe iPad has also become a valuable tool for student wellness. Our young learners are able to take mindful moments using apps like Dojo Island, where they can play a quick game, self-regulate their emotions, and reset before returning to learning. It's a small but powerful way to build independence and emotional awareness.\r\n\r\nWhat excites the students most is that they see the iPad as something just for them a part of their classroom world that helps them learn, feel better, and grow. Several students who were previously hesitant to engage during transitions have warmed up to our daily routines with the use of the iPad. One student, in particular, now enjoys \"checking in\" with me through the ClassDojo avatar and even reminds others to take a break when needed.\r\n\r\nYour gift has enhanced not just our technology, but the very way we connect and learn together. We are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1742925600608,"projectUrl":"project/help-kindergarten-track-data-and-support/9176316/","projectTitle":"Help Kindergarten Track Data and Support Students with an iPad!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7780547_orig.jpg?crop=2627,2627,x0,y105&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695227799198","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7780547"},{"teacherId":7780547,"projectId":9241520,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in helping build our classroom library! The books you provided have made an incredible difference in helping my kindergarteners strengthen their reading skills and grow their love for learning.\r\n\r\nAs soon as the new books arrived, the excitement in our classroom was electric. Students eagerly helped unpack the boxes and immediately began flipping through the colorful pages, pointing out characters and words they recognized. One student exclaimed, \"These are books just for us!\" and they truly are. These leveled readers and phonics books are now part of our daily small-group instruction and independent reading time.\r\n\r\nWe've used these books during our guided reading lessons, where students are grouped by ability and receive personalized support. The books allow us to target sight words, decoding strategies, and reading fluency in a way that feels fun and rewarding for them. Recently, one of our projects was to create mini \"book clubs\" small groups reading the same title and discussing characters, settings, and problems. Watching students take ownership of their reading has been nothing short of inspiring.\r\n\r\nThe next step for my students is to use these books in their reading journals, where they write about what they read, draw illustrations, and make connections to their own lives. This ongoing routine is helping them grow not just as readers, but as thoughtful, expressive learners.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students have access to the tools they need to thrive. There have been a few who have tried to build a tall tower like they saw if the video on youtube. \r\nThe sentence stems and spell a gator were challenging for some students but everyone wanted a turn to learn to play.
