My students use it daily for hands-on, exploratory learning across different subjects and themes.\r\n\r\nOne of our first activities was an interactive farm unit, where students got to explore farm life on a whole new level. We set up sensory materials, small-world figures, and themed activities inside the tray, allowing students to imagine, build, and discover together. They were so engaged—asking thoughtful questions, making connections to our read-alouds, and collaborating as they played.\r\n\r\nWe then transitioned into a five senses exploration, using the tuff tray to set up intentional, themed stations. Students used their senses to investigate different textures, smells, sounds, and objects. The tray created a focused, inviting space for this kind of hands-on learning and supported their natural curiosity beautifully.\r\n\r\nWhen the tuff tray first arrived, their excitement was unforgettable—lots of gasps, big smiles, and enthusiastic brainstorming about what we could create next!\r\n\r\nNext, we're planning a fall-themed sensory and counting activity, where students will use natural materials like leaves, pinecones, and acorns to practice number recognition and sorting while exploring the changing season.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students this incredible opportunity to learn through play, exploration, and creativity. Your generosity truly brings our lessons to life every day.","fullyFundedDate":1749922195690,"projectUrl":"project/one-tray-endless-discovery-learning/9408765/","projectTitle":"One Tray - Endless Discovery, Learning, and Opportunities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bates","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10054441"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_73346","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":647,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":41,"percentAsian":19,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":25,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":38,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"24.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":39.5,"schoolId":73346,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Freedom Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Freedom Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/sylvan-union-school-district/freedom-elementary-school/73346"}
