Your thoughtful gift has already enriched our students' musical experiences in big, joyful ways.\r\n\r\nThe chimes have been especially valuable as we introduce young learners to different types of percussion and help them explore the concept of pitch. Students love testing the chimes' tones and using them to compare high and low sounds — it's a hands-on way to make abstract ideas stick.\r\n\r\nMost recently, the chimes played a starring role in a sound-story lesson for the book The Little Old Lady Who Wasn't Afraid of Anything. Children chose instruments to represent the characters and spooky sounds; many decided the chimes were the perfect \"big scary pumpkin head\" that goes \"BOO!\" Their excitement and dramatic performances showed how much more vivid a story becomes when students create it through sound.\r\n\r\nThank you also for the desk bell sets you donated. The bells have been perfect for hands‑on pitch exercises as well, letting students hear and identify specific tones quickly and clearly. We've also used them during composition activities: small groups arrange bell tones to create short melodies and rhythmic patterns, then perform their original songs for classmates. These experiences foster listening skills, teamwork, and creative confidence — all made possible by your gift\r\n\r\nYour support does more than supply instruments — it opens creative doors, encourages musical thinking, and builds confidence. Thank you for helping our students listen, imagine, and make music together.","fullyFundedDate":1758636694352,"projectUrl":"project/ringing-in-the-school-year/9456217/","projectTitle":"Ringing in the School Year!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stacy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7651929_orig.png?crop=298,298,x0,y6&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657033522779","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7651929"},{"teacherId":7651929,"projectId":9338896,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of the metallophone and xylophone to our elementary music classroom. Your thoughtful gift has already made a noticeable difference — the students light up with excitement whenever we bring out the barred instruments, and now many more of them will have the chance to play, practice, and learn during each class.\r\n\r\nBarred instruments are an essential teaching tool in my classroom. They help students explore pitch — distinguishing high and low sounds — and practice musical concepts such as tempo and dynamics. I also use them at a composition station where students create and share their own songs; having additional instruments means each child gets more hands‑on experience. Because of your kindness, I can do more of what I love: guiding young musicians as they discover, experiment, and grow.\r\n\r\nYour generosity and thoughtfulness are deeply appreciated. There are not enough words to express our gratitude, but please know that your donation will be used to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence in my students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting music education and for investing in children's learning.","fullyFundedDate":1752586541962,"projectUrl":"project/let-them-make-mallet-music/9338896/","projectTitle":"Let Them Make Mallet Music!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stacy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7651929_orig.png?crop=298,298,x0,y6&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657033522779","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7651929"},{"teacherId":7651929,"projectId":9288718,"letterContent":"I am writing to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of the mini xylophone sets, a gathering drum, and a djembe drum to our classroom. Your kindness has truly enriched our students' musical experiences.\r\n\r\nThe mini xylophones have become a favorite at our music centers, where students are using them to practice decoding skills by playing out sounds in words. They are also learning note names through familiar nursery rhymes and developing their pitch identification abilities. The excitement in the room when they engage with these instruments is inspiring!\r\n\r\nWe are especially looking forward to using the gathering drum and djembe during our National Drum Month celebration in November. The students will participate in a drumming circle, exploring the difference between beat and rhythm, which will deepen their understanding of music in a hands-on way.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support and for bringing such joy and learning opportunities to our classroom.
