We immediately integrated the piccolos into our ensemble rehearsals, and I've already seen a noticeable boost in confidence and enthusiasm among the students who have taken on this new challenge.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stands out: during a recent sectional rehearsal, two students who previously played flute got to perform a duet on the new piccolos. The clarity and brightness of the sound completely transformed their piece, and the rest of the group spontaneously applauded when they finished. It was one of those magical classroom moments that reminded us all why music matters. These instruments have allowed us to explore new repertoire written specifically for piccolo, and they've helped diversify the sound of our ensemble in a way we couldn't have done before.\r\n\r\nNext up, our students are preparing for the spring concert, where the piccolos will be featured in a few pieces, including a vibrant march and a lyrical ballad.
